At this point in the season (the 15th is only four days away), why bother? The Twins might as well get another year of control.

The highlights of the game for me were watching Keascall and then Martin playing balls off the right field wall (Keaschall) and left field wall (Martin). The leap by Keaschall was about ten feet short and looked very awkward. Martin's effort was almost as comical as he completely miscalculated where the ball going to go and then made several attempts to corral the ball as it merrilly rolled its way back towards the infield. Very amusing when the Twins are ahead 9-1. But both efforts would have been horrendous in a one-run game. (But they were funny.)

If the players he was assigned aren't good at playing defense, the original comment is true.

According to the write up, Justin Mitrovich had a weird game. He pitched six shutout innings. But he also gave up two runs. But the Kernals still managed to shut out Peoria.

I hate when they adhere to a plan whether it makes sense or not. Why not let him continue until he hits a pitch count limit?

They've done it before. And sometimes for even fewer starts per week.

After Culpepper soaks in the MLB atmosphere for a week, he'll be joined by Jenkins on the 16th. Let's see how these moves impact attendance for the rest of the season. I hope the Twins don't do something stupid like making them sit on the bench and observe how major leaguers behave. If you call them up, play them for the rest of the year.

How does a player get "recalled" if he's never been "called"? Just wondering.

Meanwhile, back to the game. I wish I would have kept track of how many hard-hit balls the Twins hit to straight away center field that had a chance to go over Isbel's head, but ended up being caught. It sure seemed like a lot of 400-foot outs.

I read at mlb.com that the Hoffman trade also included Toronto received "international bonus pool space". What does this mean?

There is a possibility that no one would cough up enough prospects to make trading Jeffers worthwhile and maybe no one wanted a slow footed, bad defensively platoon outfielder. I would have liked to see it happen, but it didn't.

Still seven minutes left according to my watch. It's possible another trade could happen.

Caratini had his back to the 3rd base line. Because of that, there was no way he would be able to locate the runner. Yes, it wasn't a good throw, but if Caratini would have move a little to his right, he would have seen where the runner was and dove to a spot that would intercept his slide. The runner may still have been safe, but the play would have been much closer. He also would not have to make a "matador" tag attempt.

To me it .looked like Caratini wasn't in great position to make a play. I give him a little of the blame also.

Skubel is a free agent after the World Series. That drops his value significantly.

Or he could be part of another trade. Jeffers, Minton, and 10-20 prospect for a close-to-MLB starter with several years oc control.

Almost nothing happens? Months of work put in by 50 or 60 people is nothing. Or maybe you were. Being sarcastic. If so, good job. I agree that fans won't hear the honest truth until 5:00PM on draft deadline day.
