    Why do so many responders think the Twins are going to Boston? Their next trip to Fenway is late September.

    Kiersey will definitely get his chance as an MLB player - once the Twins trade him for pitching help (and probably for someone with a history of arm problems).

    Not much of a "pipeline" if there isn't anyone ready to follow SWR to the majors. The next two (Festa and Maya) are only going three to five innngsat each start.

    I am someone who lives 1500 miles from the Twins Cities and has no direct connection to the TV fiasco. But I am a Twins fan and have been since Pedro Ramos took the mound on opening day 1961. And I do have a strong opinion on the budget cutting enacted by the front office. It is my opinion that the Twins should have taken advantage of the almost league wide payroll hesitancy to step up, buck the trend, and invest in an even better product for the 2024 season. For a product valued at roughly $1.4 billion dollars (and ownership valued at an additional $1B), there isn't any reason why another $30M could not have been added to the payroll. Instead of fueling the enthusiasm, the Twins figuratively dowsed it in cold water. To me, the Twins payroll cut was a total disaster that should have been avoided.

    Okay. I gotta ask. What the heck does "shove" mean? I have figured out that it means that someone did well, but why "shove"? Who's getting pushed around? Does anyone get hurt when someone "shoves"?

    Because I'm in New England, I get to watch all the Red Sox games (whether I want them or not). During last night's game, the two announcers seemed very preoccupied with the sausage. The had long periods where they were discussing why a team would keep a "rotting" piece of meat in the dugout, why Kepler wouldn't get near it, and how will they get it across the border when going to Toronto. Now that's some quality broadcasting.

    I knew a pro wrestler named the Crusher. But his name was Reggie Lisowski. In 1964, the summer before my senior year in high school, the Crusher rented a cabin just down the road from my parents' cabin. I would go past his cabin every morning when I went running and would stop to watch him working out with weights on my return. One day, he saw me watching, called me over, and asked me if I wanted to join him. For the next six weeks I worked out almost every day with him. He would show me an exercise with an appropriate amount of weight for me on the barbell. Once I did my reps, he would add 100-150 more pounds to the barbell and do his reps. I lost 20 pounds that summer and was in the best shape of my life. (Too bad that only lasted a short time.) He was a very friendly and humorous guy. Best summer ever!

    DaShaun Kiersey, Jr. is batting .291, has an OPS of .899, and has stolen 8 bases. Just because he's an ancient 27 years old is no reason to overlook him.

    And they didn't get just Maeda but the Twins also got Jair Camargo. He may show up at target field this year.

    Instead of creating a phantom injury to give a player some time off (rest, work on a weakness, etc.), MiLB took the unusual route of honesty and instituted the development list. Any player can be placed on the development list for any reason and for any length of time. It gives the player the opportunity to recover from a minor injury, work on a perceived weakness in their game, or any other reason. No reason is even required. This also allows the player to remain with the team and acclimate to the life of a professional athlete. The only restriction is that the player cannot play in any games.

    Those pitch counts make the handling of Raya even more questionable. Let the guy pitch!

    As long as we're playing "make believe", why not have Duran start one day a week and be a reliever the other six?

    Paul Skenes is the #1 pitching prospect. He's averaging two strike outs per inning, has only allowed one run so far this season, and is about to join the Pirates. He's also only three months older than Maya. He's averaging just 3.33 innings a game. Sounds absurd to me but I guess that's the way it's done now.

    I've just finished all six pages of comments and I have one request. Would someone please enter the score and inning data every once in a while? For those of us that are 1500 miles away and do not get to view any Twins' games (unless they are playing the Red Sox in my case), it would be nice to know what's going on. Thanks.

    I sure does tell us something. It clearly says that April has been a bad month. Nothing more - nothing less. No conspiracies to uncover here.

    Major League Ready asked you to share the scouting reports to which you refer. What are they, please?

    I'm hoping Duran gives the team an energy injection in about a week. And that Correa does the same two weeks after that. And then Lewis returns in June and energizes the team just as he did last year. And as long as I'm day dreaming, how about: Larnach keeps hitting. Martin keeps hitting. Lee gets healthy faster than anticipated. Margot and Santana get released. Did I go too far?

    None of the above makes any sense. Those are four sentence fragments with none having a conclusion. Please try a complete sentence that clearly explains your stance.

    If there is a team philosophy of home run or nothing, why haven't the "exceptions" you noted above been traded for players that fit the mold? I think the problem is that the Twins have a team comprised of mostly boneheads that believe the old adage that homeruns get the chicks. And following up on that, I have a serious question. Is it the front office's job to create a philosophy for the team? Or is their job to find players that fit the philosophy of the coaching staff? The front offices in other sports seem to draft/trade for players that fit the coaching philosophy. Why is baseball so different? Or is it? The blame the front office attitude at TD may be incorrect (about this subject, not in general).

    Strong opinions - definitely. Debate - more "you're wrong and I'm right!" than debate. Civil discourse - I assume that was satire?

    All I remember was that the Twins drafted the best reliever in the draft and tried to make him a starter. They should have left him alone.
