  1. If Rosario continues to hit, does he get an earlier call up than September?
  2. Hmm, this is interesting, I think that Correia has earned at least another 2 starts, however if he tanks them or possibly even one of them, May gets his long awaited debut.
  3. So Nolasco didn't exactly pitch the lights out last night, but he only gave up the 2 homers and was in line for the win before Perkins decided he wanted it instead. That being said, hopefully he is able to build off a decent performance and become the starter we all hoped he would be when he was signed.
  4. He has definitely earned at least one more start. This line: 7IP, 2.57 ERA, 7K, 1BB, 5H. is better than any start we got out of Deduno since he has been starting.
  5. I was just going to say something similar to this, the starting pitching is much improved this year, as evidence by the Twins losing games 2-1 (Red Sox) inside of 10-1. The starting pitching will keep the Twins from losing 90 games this season.
  6. Not only is it impressive that he started, but how well he played certainly looks nice too! Hopefully he will develop quickly!
  7. I feel like it be the easiest move for the Twins to just move Pelf to the 60 day DL, it would be retroactive to when he first went on the DL anyway, so he wouldn't have that much longer on the DL either way. This unfortunately keeps Burton on the team.
  8. This is a great point. The team needs to look at who will be parts of the solution in a year or even more likely 2 years, it is likely most would agree that neither Guerrier or Burton are part of even next years team. Thus someone like Tonkin or Pressly make much more sense than than either Guerrier or Burton. Also, love the picture zenser.
  9. I agree this flexibililty will be helpful in the long run, although it does make for some interesting defense in the short term.
  10. Another piece of good news, Rosario is back from suspension as well.
  11. Now if everyone could hit like Parmelee, who is 2 for 2!
  12. Up to 5 strikeouts through 4 innings. Won't discuss what he has going.
  13. Seriously?? I just looked at Florimon's stats, he is hitting .108. Scratch that, after a strikeout, .106
  14. 17 inning scoreless streak for Gibson!
  15. 3 strikeouts in 2 innings.
  16. Wow, the bottom 2 are like a black hole in the Twins lineup, Fryer and Florimon? I guess we better hope that Gibson throws a shutout.
  17. Thanks Riverbrian! Great Things to Think about!
  18. I think we will see Pino start Thursday, then likely be moved to the bullpen, at the expense of hopefully Guerrier or Burton, then when his spot in the rotation comes up again May gets the start or the Twins shuffle their rotation a little bit to have May start on regular rest.
  19. May will likely be the next one up, even if it is to replace Pino after this start. It just was not feasible to get him up Thursday when he pitched Monday.
  20. Hopefully he will debut like Albers did, 2 great starts, then keep it going or be replaced by May or Meyer.
  21. Nolasco getting the largest FA contract the Twins have ever done tells you that his leash is going to be a LOT longer any of the following: Deduno, Correia, and even Gibson. Obviously his results this year leave something to be desired, however he has been a league average pitcher for the past few years, so he deserves the chance to straighten himself out.
  22. Have we gotten any indications on the potential corresponding roster move? I don't think the Twins will try to sneak Deduno through waivers, is there another pitcher who can go down to make sure the Twins can keep Deduno?
  23. When is the latest the Twins could make an announcement about calling up Darnell to start Thursday? Does it have to be down Wednesday or could they wait until Thursday and make the move?
  24. And unfortunately for KC they essentially traded 5 or 6 years of Wil Myers for 2 years of Shields, both of which they are not going to make the playoffs in, which can be taken as a lesson for the Twins, be extremely cautious about trading top prospects for pitching when you believe you are ready to return to contention.
  25. Not to be a downer, but isnt this discussion a few years too soon? It seems the target is now 2016 with the injuries to both Buxton and Sano, which likely gives the Twins 2 full years to determine if they have an 'Ace' in the system, whether it be Meyer or possibly Stewart. I think we should revisit this discussion in 2 years, when we know whether we have the top prospects to trade for an ace.
