    Has Darnell made an appearance yet? Or did they get unlucky and call him up right at the beginning of this stretch of good starts for our starters?

    This is hopefully a problem that the Twins will have to decide how to handle. I think that clearly the Twins are going to stick with Nolasco, Hughes, and Gibson, so clearly there is 3 of the 5 slots already occupied. Of course that leaves Correia and now Deduno/Pelfrey which I think the Twins will attempt to trade Correia to ensure that at least one rotation spot opens up. Also, clearly the Twins are not opposed to having Deduno in the bullpen so I think that if Meyer and May force the issue they will move Deduno back to the bullpen. Just leaving Pelfrey and his 11 million. What happens then I have no idea.

    Gibson has an ERA of 3.50, and is in the top 20 in AL in ERA! When is the last time the Twins had a starter towards the top of the league in ERA?

    I seem to recall reading somewhere that some of the newer metrics saying that batting the pitcher 8th could help a team score more runs because the 9 spot leads off an inning more than the 8 and it is like having another lead off hitter. Of course, I could be completely wrong too.

    Right, I wasn't intending to say that he did it, I am just saying that he got knocked for it and look at the kind of pitcher that he was.

    Jack Morris always got knocked for pitching to the scoreline. And he should be in the hall of fame.

    Will Santana make it in time to be available for the game?

    What happens if Santana comes up and tears the cover of the ball with the bat and plays passable SS defense? Does he stay up?

    Agreed! At this point, Diamond is AAA filler to make sure that Rochester has a couple stable pitchers while Darnell/Johnson/May/Meyer potentially get called up.

    Seems odd to add Santana, I mean don't get me wrong anything to keep a bat out of Florimon's hands is good, but where are the outfielders? Especially with Parmalee raking, however I have to wonder if this isn't the same thing we have seen time and again with Parmalee where he rakes in AAA and flops in MLB.

    Hopefully he tears up AA when he gets there and gets a September call-up for this year!

    I live in Kentucky and I realize I really need to start going to some University of Kentucky baseball games. It seems like half the Twins minor organization has played there at some point. On another point, really excited to see Darnell get a shot of the Big club! Hopefully he sticks!

    Wow a Twins pitcher averaging almost a K an inning, I guess Santana would be the last Twins pitcher to average a K an inning.

    Now let's not sell Pelfrey short, his ERA is 7.99, that's a huge difference. Insert joke here.

    Agreed! Hopefully this showing will be the motivating factor to get Deduno starting over Pelfrey.
