  1. I live in Kentucky and just could not make it to this game, so a huge thanks to Jokin for giving this update. I really hope that the Twins are on the verge of making moves to bring up both May and Meyer and for all the discussion about Meyer and the 40 man, I think we can all agree he is going to be added in November when he has to be anyway, so make the move, dump Florimon and give him the spot and get him to Minneapolis where he belongs.
  2. Didn't Nolasco throw the Twins first complete game of the season?
  3. As much as hate to say this, I think Detriot pretty much robbed Tampa Bay blind with this trade.
  4. I completely agree with you Seth! This plan would, I believe, give a lot of the top pitchers in the system an opportunity to get their collective feet wet and see what we have for next year.
  5. I agree, they likely will try to slide Willingham and Correia to someone in August as well. These 2 trades were good for the organization.
  6. I think if they sign a CF it will be on a one year deal because if Buxton is healthy and able to rake at AA, he will be up around the All Star break next season anyway. That being said, I say roll with Santana playing CF and resign Fuld as your 4th OF and hold down the fort until Buxton is ready. Plus, the Twins would have a hard time getting a decent CF to come here because of Buxton.
  7. Does Buxton make it up to AA this year or will he finish the year at Fort Myers?
  8. Is this an indication that Stewart will be shut down for the rest of the season?
  9. Since the Twins have already made one move, I figured we could have a similar thread to Vodka Dave's guess the record for the next 14 games threads. Except that this would be, "Who is next to be traded?" Personally I think that the Hammer is the next to be traded. How about the rest of Twins Daily community?
  10. I like the trade, yes we got an injured relief pitcher, but it is better than keeping Morales for the rest of the year so he can walk at the end of the season for nothing, not even a comp pick. Plus it gives a very clear indication what the Twins plans are, SELL. So this likely means we will be seeing the likes of May, Meyer, Vargas (September), Rosario (September) as the Twins continue to unload expiring contracts.
  11. Not to defend the organization, but I think up to this point, the FO has had good reasons to not promote one or both, for Meyer his earlier season inconsistency and now for May his injury. I honestly believe that May would have already made his debut with the Twins were it not for his injury. Again like I said, not necessarily defending the organization but just adding my 2 cents.
  12. I think the Twins stay right about where they are. Probably looking at a pick somewhere between 5 and 10. I think having Hughes and Gibson (plus potentially May and Meyer) is enough to keep the Twins from going on a hugh losing streak where they could make up ground on the teams picking higher than them. I think the Twins finish somewhere around 75-87 give or take.
  13. Wow those hitting lines in Fort Myers last night were unbelievable. Buxton and Polanco combined to hit .642 (9-14) plus they walked 3 times combined and hit 2 homers. That is just something truly awesome to see. Hopefully both will continue to rake!
  14. That must be quite the outfield Fort Myers is rocking, Buxton in right with Santana in Center, sounds like that might be where fly balls go to die.
  15. Having Buxton at number 2 isn't a big deal to me either, I was simply curious who they had at number 1. I did not realize Bryant was putting up the numbers he was.
  16. Hopefully last nights game is his launching point for the rest of the season and he gets up to AA and plays some AFL to get at bats in and comes back full strength for spring training.
  17. Wow, KLaw has someone other than Buxton as number 1. Most of the midseason rankings still had him as number 1 that I have seen. Who does KLaw have as number 1?
  18. I think given what the Twins have in the system and what will be available this offseason the only way the Twins trade Suzuki is if they get blown away on an offer. I think if you get offered a top 10 prospect and possibly another Top 20 Top 30 prospect than you make the trade. However, I don't see someone giving that good of an offer for a rental with no guarantee of next season. So long way around, I think Suzuki does not get traded and ultimately signs an extension with the team.
  19. This is a great observation and I agree completely. Having Plouffe around as a super utility guy who can get spot starts against tough lefties (I'm looking at you Chris Sale) for Mauer could be a great benefit to this team.
  20. Hopefully this is a sign that Buxton is truly back. If he hits like this for a week or two do the Twins get up moved up to AA?
