    Falvey can still make moves, yes he has cost restraints but there were moves to be made. This can't be laid all at the feet of Joe Pohlad who is now in charge.

    Why the Pohlads deserve their share of criticism, it's not like our payroll is at $75 million. Falvey always waits it out whether it is free agency or the trade deadline and then he makes a panic move to say he did something. This front office is very risk averse and needs to take a share of the blame as well. If they lose players to the Rule 5 draft this offseason due to the lack of moves they will look even worse.

    Why is everybody surprised Larnach is not in the lineup. They have a LH pitcher going and LH hitters will not be in the lineup unless there is no option.

    Which Stewart are we going to get, the pre 2023 version or the 2023 version. He has never pitched over 34 innings in a season and hasn't had success until 2023 over 27 innings. Can we really count on him, has he found something. I think counting on him to be anything more than a mid inning reliever until you can see more sustained success is a gamble.

    Wow, the Tigers let their rookie hit against a LH pitcher, I didn't think that was allowed.

    Why not Wallner or Larnach and I prefer Wallner. It is not against the rules to have a LH hitter in the lineup against LH pitching. And you can site their numbers all day long, but when have they been given a sustained look against LH pitching. Getting one or two AB's once or twice a week is not going to tell you if they can be close to league average. The Twins can not turn every LH hitter into a platoon player especially high draft picks, other wise they are wasting those picks. They should potentially be impact players not platoon players. And another point having LH hitters in the lineup against LH pitching helps to break it up and give the pitcher a different look rather than using all RH hitters.

    Teams that don't have good starting players employ this strategy in the playoffs. The goal should be to have 8 solid position players to play every day and can hit in every situation. There are times when pinch hitting or a defensive substitution makes sense. But setting your roster to employ someone for only one task is not a winning formula. Looking at Texas last year, they pinch hit once in five games in the World Series. I believe they won the World Series. I would rather follow the formula of the winning team, not everyone else.

    When they are given a couple of AB's every two weeks it is difficult to have success to show you can have success. Julien actually did produce in the first month when given an opportunity. You have to develop your players and that means letting them play, Noticed when we played the Brewers , they didn't automatically pinch hit for their rookie outfielder, Frelick. There are numerous examples of teams letting their players play. You do not win championships with a team of platoon players and that is what this front office has built. You can' t control every scenario that players will hit in, you need players that can hit against both sides of pitching. But the Twins will not give an opportunity to the LH hitters to do this. Is it the player or is it the team philosophy. We will find out when Jenkins and ERod arrive, because right now I believe they will be turned into platoon players as well.

    First he was hitting .080 in 25 AB's, pretty small sample size. The determination has already been made that he will not get AB's against a LH, this year or next. The Twins want all platoon players. If Mauer and Morneau came up today, they would be platoon players as well with this front office and manager.

    How do you know he is terrible against left handed pitchers, when is the last time he had an ab against one. The Twins have made the determination with all of their young left handed hitters that they can't hit left handed pitching. Wallner actually had reasonable numbers in the minors against left handed pitching. Now I don't know if he can be league average or not but we will never know if he gets no chance.

    Rocco's quote from Monday night about pinch hitting Margot, "I'm still going to bet on the guy who is a good righthanded bat to go up there in those spots." He needs to earn this role and he has not, this is why this team will not go anywhere in the playoffs.

    This is almost getting embarrassing that Rocco keeps sending Margot up there to pinch hit. What do you have to lose by letting Wallner hit. And defense can't be the reason either, Wallner's defense is fine in LF. This is almost getting to be a fireable offense. If you insist on a RH pinch hitter try Martin, anyone other than Margot.

    He is supposed to be the bulk guy. With Schwarber and Harper due in the first inning, Okert will start to face them. But with Rocco whoever knows for sure.

    Honest question, did Martin have reverse splits in the minors. He never gets a start against LH pitching.

    Are Margot and Castillo really better options then Martin, Wallner or Julien. Can we play the better players and fill in with bench players as needed. Wallner plays one game than sits two games, And then the question becomes why does he struggle, let him play.

    This has nothing to do with the injuries. They don't have this when fully healthy. When you have a core, you slide someone in for an injury instead of playing mad scientist every day.

    I am not sure what game you were watching. Santana had one good AB, Castro our supposed MVP set the tone by getting thrown out at third in the first inning and missed two plays in the field. And Wallner had a pinch hit single, I am not sure what he did wrong today. Hoping for anything from Kepler is wishful thinking, he has had two and a half months of solid play since 2019 and one good mini streak this year when he came off the IL. The manager's job is to put the players in a position to succeed, so let's keep pinch hitting Margot because he is so successful at it. Castro is not a SS and should not be played there on a regular basis. Good teams have a core of 5 to 7 players that play at the same position and bat the same spot in the lineup. We have a team of role players and that is why we see the mistakes we do and the sloppy play.

    Someone please tell Rocco it is not against the rules for a LH hitter to hit against a LH pitcher.

    It shouldn't have come down to the bullpen. Bunt the runner over in the 10th inning, but of course Larnach the best option for a fly ball is not in the game any more. The early pinch hitting moves and lack of playing fundamental baseball hurt as much as the bullpen.
