  1. His glove is not that special to make up for his lack of offense. I would prefer we get 13 players up here that can play rather than worrying about a specialist. Especially one who is not that strong in his specialty.
  2. Or the same analytic nerds in the front office.
  3. Why, there are two or three better options that should be called up first.
  4. I have no confidence they would do that. That would be my preference.
  5. And yet they refuse to play him against RH pitching. He has earned the right to play every day at least until someone better beats him out but right now that player is not on the 26 man roster.
  6. Now Wallner has been scratched and Outman is in the lineup. What does Martin have to do to get more playing time. This obsession with platoon is over the top, I get it for some players, but it appears this is the main criteria for playing decisions.
  7. Can we please be done with forcing Clemens into the lineup, he should be the 13th man on the bench not a regular at 1B.
  8. I don't want Tom Pholad making roster decisions unless he is being asked to add payroll. I want him to hire someone competent to run the baseball operations and knows how to construct a roster. We didn't have this with Falvey and I have my doubts about Zoll but am willing to give him some time to see if he will operate better.
  9. Decide where Keaschall is going to play and let him play there, you have to let him try and master a position. Any plan where Kriedler and Gray get regular AB's is a poor plan. Go with the upside of youth, meaning Culpepper if you want to move off Lee at SS. I think you need to give Lee more time, he has actually started to hit, he has had one bad game and you say he is reverting back to weak contact. There were no real good consistent AB's from anyone in the lineup last night. So the whole team should be criticized, picking out one or two players for the game, you have nine to choose from.
  10. Yeah he has all of 60 games in the majors and they moved him around in the minors. So of course he is a finished product. Give him time and keep him there and let him improve. This moving everybody around and then being surprised they don't have immediate success when they come up should not be a surprise. Players can work at it and get better but you have to give them time. So quit with the talk of having him play in the outfield and let him get his reps at 2B.
  11. If the choice is either Kreidler or Outman, sure I would take Kreidler. But let's improve the overall roster and bring up ERod or Roden. A good manager can find AB's for everyone, just stop worrying about platoons and trying to force Clemens in the lineup. They already gave up on 1B defense this year by signing Bell, you need to play him there to improve the rest of the lineup by moving players in and out. There is no reason between Wallner, Larnach, Martin and the new callup can't play four to five times a week by freeing up the DH spot. For the record, I say bring up ERod and see what he can do.
  12. I get all the comments about Wallner, I am getting frustrated with him as well and I have been a fan of his. But I don't think we will be facing 50% LH pitching the rest of the year, that just doesn't hold up over a full year. So to make roster decisions based on this stretch is just not the smart thing to do. I still think Wallner could do ok against LH pitching but not when that is all he is facing. Any LH hitter we would have put out there during this stretch, their numbers would be down as well. Maybe they need to mix in Larnach more to be the token LH bat in these lineups.
  13. That would be a great improvement, let's not get excited about Gray. He is not an everyday player, he has had his moments but he is a 30 year old journeyman for a reason. He is the Clemens of 26. Keaschall will be fine.
  14. Betsy Helfand tweeted that he is starting a rehab tomorrow in St. Paul.
  15. Is Klein really in the rotation, I thought I read they were putting him in that 4 inning role that they have fallen in love with. So do they consider him a starter or reliever.
  16. Please keep Culpepper at short, quit moving him around. Let him try to excel at one position, if he comes up, Lee can move around.
  17. The bullpen is an option that needs to be considered. He seems to do well the first time thru the order.
  18. And who will he platoon with, we have no other RH batters on the bench, a lefty has to be in the lineup.
  19. Gray is a 30 year old journey man who has contributed to a couple of wins. He is the Clemens of 2025, he has a couple of good moments and then he is declared the savior of the team.
