  1. Rocco is waving the white flag.
  2. It's not like we had a $50m payroll. Yes they cut payroll and probably shouldn't have. But we have two of the largest contracts in Twins history and the front office was unable to build anything around that. This front office has not shown they know how to run a major league franchise and it starts with them.
  3. Have you been watching the games, Rocco does not know how to win games.
  4. Everybody wants to keep Santana because he leads the team in RBI's and HR's. But Jeffers who is right behind him you want to get rid of. Royce Lewis has 500 AB's, with an OPS of .830, I think it is premature to say he is not usable. Yes his last month has been disappointing, but give him a position and let him play there every day and get comfortable. I have no idea what to do with Julien, Kiriloff, Miranda, we either have to play them or get starting caliber players in to replace them. Not the Santana's and Margot's of the world. The bar needs to be set higher in terms of expectations and stop this position flexibility and platooning for everyone nonsense.
  5. Can we maybe set the bar a little higher than Farmer, even if is in a reserve role. We fall in love with below average veterans then we wonder why we are a .500 team.
  6. Martin came up thru the minors as a shortstop, not an OF. The problem is they did not play him enough in the OF in the minors even though it became apparent that was his path to the majors.
  7. Actually if you look at the best teams, their closers only pitch in the ninth inning during the regular season.
  8. He was half way there before going back to second.
  9. How did we know they would play the infield in with a runner at third. They do every single time, don't tell me they aren't completely analytics driven. Every decision is decided before the game even starts. And yes this time, it didn't hurt, but it has plenty of times.
  10. Didn't get to third when Martin was in the run down, he gave up pretty early on even trying.
  11. Can someone teach Correa how to run bases, it ultimately didn't matter, but that is two nights in a row he has made a base running error.
  12. This was a bad base running blunder by Correa, there is no excuse from a leader of the team. He wasn't going to score from second on a base hit, so he needed to go only half way.
  13. Are you not including Buxton, Castro and others.
  14. Way to make up for the run you cost us Carlos.
  15. No he won't, Castro will move to second.
  16. And now we will get to see the great defense of Margot in LF.
  17. At least Margot won't be pinch hitting tonight. But why is he pinch running for Lee, he has no speed left.
  18. Maybe before he pops off about his teammates, Correa needs to clean up his game.
  19. I have no problem with the Irvin move, but I am not sure about bringing Topa back at this point in the season.
  20. The next desperation move, activate Topa when he hasn't pitched all year. So is he going to be used in high leverage in his first appearance. I hope I am wrong but I don't know how you can reasonably expect anything out of him at this point. And it's not like he has a stellar track record other than one good year. But at least Irvin is gone.
  21. My point is, his public comments seems like he is throwing players under the bus to a degree.
  22. We don't who they were talking about, but Rocco was pretty direct that there are players not executing the game plan for the day.
  23. Santana is leading the team with 22 HR and 65 RBi's, I don't think those numbers for a supposed contending team are anything to brag about. And he is second on the team in AB's with the next closest over 100 AB's less. Of course he is leading the team and we are about to be eliminated from the playoffs. Can we at least try for quality rather than average production. And Castro should be playing 3 to 4 days a week, he is being overvalued because he plays a lot of positions, his production has fallen off dramatically the second half of the season. A contending team should not have Willi Castro leading in AB's, oh wait maybe we aren't a contending team.
  24. Actually Lewis probably had some the best AB's on the team last night other than Correa. So I am not sure why he would be called out. Julien and Lee aren't even playing, so it would be interesting to know who he was referring to. And of course Rocco piled on because his coaching staff can do no wrong and it has to be the players. This is why Rocco is not a good manager for a younger team, he wants them to self police themselves and choose their pre game preparation. Younger players need some direction. And yes the players do have to take responsibility as well but at some point the coaching staff has to evaluate their approach if you aren't getting the desired results, that is management 101.
