  1. They are not going to option Lewis to the minors. He can only be on a rehab assignment for so many days, I believe 20 before he has to be activated. At that time he will be up here, so let's not drag it out and giving AB's to these vagabond veterans they are throwing at us.
  2. Royce needs to be here tomorrow. He is better than our four bench players and Julien. Bring up McCusker or Prato, they have to do something. This is not a major league lineup and you just can't keep running it out there and hope for different results. And yes I know Royce may not be a savior but he is a better then a third of the players on the roster now.
  3. Casas could have been called out for interference, he was running outside the lane the whole time.
  4. At this point, call up McCusker, we need offense, at least find out if he can provide it. You know Clemens and Gasper won't.
  5. How can you take an organization seriously when they run Gasper out there as the DH, he doesn't even belong in the major leagues.
  6. Today he threw one fastball to the 2, 3, and 4 hitters. He threw mostly his sweeper and changeup. This may be true for other games but not for today. He looked good and retired easily two of their top hitters.
  7. He is actually the number four pitcher on this team. I want to set the pitching up to be successful this year and the years going forward. The best way to do that is to put Paddack in the bullpen and put one of the one youngsters in the rotation. You will get the same production from the starting pitching and may actually improve the bullpen, that is where Paddack's value. This way you find out what you have in your pitching pipeline. And if you have to go down to your number 9 or 10 pitcher, you can stretch him back out and move him back. You can't just look at one game, look at what sets the organization up for success and running Paddack out there every 5 days for 5 innings does not do that. And yes the offense needs to continue the progress made against the sisters of the poor.
  8. If they are not going to trust Paddack to go a third time thru the order, he needs to go to the bullpen. I want somebody with more upside in that slot. We can not continue developing pitchers to only go 4 or 5 innings. It is not sustainable over the course of a season. And by using 5 pitchers a game, the odds are one will be off that game. And keep Duran for the 9th, he is your best reliever, keep him pitching in the 9th.
  9. And Festa's ERA in the same time frame is 1.38. So if this is the criteria you want to use Festa should have stayed in the rotation. If we are only get 4 or 5 innings out of Paddock, we would be better off moving him to the bullpen and putting Festa or Matthews in the rotation. There is more potential upside with them.
  10. If this is what we are going to get from Paddock, give the spot to Festa or Matthews. There is more potential upside.
  11. How can Rocco still be the manager of this team on Tuesday. Whether it is all him or not, this team has no life and hasn't since August. This can not continue, this is so painful to watch.
  12. Varland threw 6 pitches, how can you not bring him out for another inning, Duran can pitch the 8th.
  13. Ober is probably done, it will be too many times to get up and down in one game when he is not used to it.
  14. Will it be Duran or Jax in the 8th. He likes Jax to face the middle of the lineup.
  15. Remember Rocco is the smartest and best manager in baseball.
  16. You can't match up for every situation over the course of a season. Put your best pitcher, right now that is Duran as the closer. I want the best option to be pitching against whoever is batting in the ninth inning and if he is not good enough then find somebody who is.
  17. That was the same time frame I played in Mankato. My coach wouldn't listen to me, so we didn't do as well.
  18. If you are an advocate for Gasper, then you must have stopped playing at the T-Ball level.
  19. So Festa will not have a good outing this year, then why bring him. He had given up one unearned run on 64 pitches and you need innings out of your starters. There was no reason to pull him based on yesterdays game which should be the criteria. And if Alcala comes in and blows up in the 7th, you are probably only going to blow thru one reliever, Topa or Blewett instead of both. That would set up the bullpen better for the rest of the series.
  20. Why not have Miranda hit for Gasper. I know he has struggled but he has had more success than Gasper in the majors.
  21. That's what I figured happened but was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. So how many relievers will we need to call up between now and Sunday.
  22. Why was Festa pulled, tuned in during Alcala's meltdown but saw Festa only threw 64 pitches.
  23. You have to have quality lefties to put in your lineup and Gasper doesn't qualify.
