  1. It's too far out to say for sure. This is Minnesota's only trip to Boston, they will do everything they can to get the game in.
  2. So is Adams heading back to St. Paul after the game, so they can activate Bradley.
  3. He gave up two runs in his final three innings. Yes he labored to get thru 4 innings and would have liked to see him go longer. But he is really our #5 starter, he has been fine and at least held them after the first inning.
  4. He cut his lip sliding head first into second, they couldn't stop the bleeding.
  5. Then put a real option out there, Kreidler is not an option to be an every day shortstop at this point in his career.
  6. They made a decision to make Lee the every day shortstop at the beginning of the season. While his play has not been spectacular, it has not been at the level that he should be displaced. If you move him, it should be for another proven veteran shortstop or a top prospect, Kreidler is neither. IMHO this is sending the wrong message to the player. And this is my frustration with the Twins they appear to favor the vets over the younger players. And these are not vets with a proven track record. And this happened throughout the Falvey tenure and appears to be continuing with Zoll.
  7. I don't believe Lee should move off short for Kreidler. He hasn't played that poorly to move him for a utility player.
  8. I don't want him in the lineup or even on the roster, this is more of an indictment of Zoll's decision making to even bring him up here.
  9. And why is Kreidler not at 3B, Lee is the shortstop. Show faith in him, the decision was made for him to be the starting shortstop, don't move him around especially for a utility player. And Kreidler actually played the most games at 3B this year in St. Paul. And people wonder why the young players don't have success.
  10. No Arcia in the lineup against a LH. For all those that said he would be a great trade chip at the deadline, he first needs to get on the field. But why is he here if they aren't even going to play him against LH pitching. He is another bad option but you would think he would be in there at some point.
  11. Moving Royce to another position now would be management malpractice. His hitting mechanics are completely out of whack, who knows truly where his head is at and than you want to throw more on his plate. Let him figure out his hitting and stay where he is comfortable. If you want to look at a position change, do it in the offseason. And no I don't believe Royce ever refused to play second, his comments were that he did not want to make a mistake when they were still in a pennant race that cost the team at a position he was not familiar with. He has changed positions for the team, so I think the whole not moving to 2B narrative is overblown. These are human beings and having them comfortable where they play is beneficial. Now some players get more preference than others due to different factors. And at the time Royce had earned the right to stay at third. Remember Dozier resisted moving off of hitting leadoff near the end of his time even when he was struggling. But he had earned the respect of his manager to keep him there similar to Buxton this year. But this has been going on throughout the history of baseball.
  12. I will cheer him on, but I am also keeping my expectations low. It is not very often a player all of sudden turns the corner at this point in their career. I am necessarily down on Kreidler specifically but the Twins organization, they constantly bring in players like this and expect them to contribute more than their history says they will. Now sometimes you do get surprised and someone will exceed expectations, but it doesn't happen often. And as soon as we see a little success, many on this board and elsewhere will say this player is the answer. Let's see some sustained success before we annoint him the next starting shortstop.
  13. But there is still a matter of talent, that technology, video analysis or coaching can only help so much. Some players are able to get more out of their talent due to doing the little things and preparing. But technology is not going to make you a star or even average player if you don't have the talent. Or else everyone on this board could suit up tonight and wipe out the Red Sox.
  14. He's played 10 games with the Twins, I am not sure you can define his tenure as a success or failure at this point.
  15. I am a believer in Royce and hope he can turn it around, but it is up to him. This comment reminds me of when Buxton struggled, it seemed like there were a lot of voices in his ear and it may be happening to Lewis as well. This is on the organization to get a unified approach that they want from him and he needs to shut other voices out if that is happening. Shelton has mentioned he is putting the work in, so I think sometimes he is not being given credit for that. . He does become his worst enemy when he speaks but if he was going well and performing we would be applauding his transparency and not speaking in cliches. I want him to talk less and let his performance stand on its merit. It does appear that he is thinking too much at the plate and needs to get a stable base as mentioned in an earlier comment. I. would like to see him use the whole field, which he seemed to do when he first came up, hopefully they don't encourage him to pull the ball based on analytics, Hopefully he can find himself in St. Paul and contribute up here. But there should be no defined timeline and any success he finds needs to be sustainable for a period of time before consideration to being called back up. But this team does need Lewis to find himself and be the player he has shown he can be to be successful.
  16. Lee is your every day shortstop, that is the decision that was made on opening day. He has done enough to hold the position until another proven option comes along or they want to promote Culpepper. Moving him for a utility player sends the wrong message and won't make the team better. If you want to move Keaschall, do it in the offseason unless it is the outfield where he has at least some experience.
  17. The last seven names you list they are not relying on, even when they have had a chance to bring them up. So until they are in the big leagues and learning how to play up here I won't consider them being relied on.
  18. I guess you could just put all the names of your roster on a slip of paper and put them in a hat. Then pull a name out for each position. Buxton should be able to catch or even play 2B since it is no big deal to move players around.
  19. You are assuming, he will play well. He couldn't even start over Kreidler yesterday. So I think the Twins are already showing their level of belief in him.
  20. I would rather see him in the outfield over Kreidler or Outman. Give him a shot, it's not like there is a stable of all stars you are sitting to give him a shot. Maybe he crashes and burns, or he might show he can be serviceable. Why not find out. Stop deluding yourselves into thinking this is a contending team.
  21. He has only had one good year since 2017 and he did make the all star team in 2023,. So it has actually been two down years. He could not get one team to give him a major league deal even at a minimum salary. I think teams have already shown how they value him. I am not even sure what kind of playing time he will get with the Twins. He didn't even start at short yesterday for Lee. A contending team is not going to look at him as a missing piece. People on this board like to get excited about fringe players, I would love to see some players that can contribute on a regular basis.
