  1. Morneau kept talking about the humidity every time he threw it over Caratini's head.
  2. The pitching well may be dry, but there are position players in St. Paul that should be called up and try to inject some life into this team. And this should start with Culpepper, Gray is not a major league SS and it is getting insane that they keep running him out there.
  3. This is the result of anyone can play anywhere and not stressing quality defense. Yes Lewis didn't make a play on the grounder. It was his second game at 1B, there are going to be more plays that would be made by an experienced first baseman that he is not going to make until he is comfortable. This is on the Twins not on Lewis.
  4. They don't consider Paredes now, so it would just mean more bullpen games.
  5. Well we did just trade for another 30 year career minor leaguer who can't throw strikes, so help might be on the way,
  6. Would you prefer Lawrence, I mean there are minimal options when you have to cover almost 5 innings.
  7. The clock is striking midnight for Taj and he is turning into a pumpkin. They need to run him out there this year, but really have to think about giving him a spot in the rotation next year.
  8. Maybe stop playing musical chairs with the defense and players can get comfortable and field their positions better.
  9. Yes he will be a gold glover by the end of the week after playing all of 2 games at 1B.
  10. Taj doesn't even know where his pitches are going, so I am not sure if he is tipping his pitches it would be helpful.
  11. We got a bullpen game tomorrow, Bradley needs to give them at six tonight. If he can't figure out where his pitches are going, it will be tough.
  12. Again, two strikes, you protect the plate, the pitch was not that far outside. And he has been letting more of those low and outside pitches go since his call up. We need more production from him, but I am seeing changes and being honest about it.
  13. He had two strikes on him and he was protecting the plate. He was not looking to pull the ball. Don't let facts get in the way of your narrative.
  14. If only we had another option for SS, but I guess Gray is the best option we have in the organization.
  15. He is not moving around nearly as much as he was, he is much more stable then his previous stint before going down. He actually went with the pitch which he hasn't been doing.
  16. This lineup tonight, we have three players, Gray, Clemens and Bell that we have options in St. Paul to replace. We are 7 games under .500 playing these three who have no future with the team except for maybe Clemens in a reserve role at best. Time to make the changes and see what you have for next year, so you know what holes need to be filled. And yes there will be baseball again at some point after this season, whenever that is it would be nice to know what direction we need to go rather than treading water.
  17. After seeing today's lineup, get what you can for him. That way they will quit forcing him in the lineup and maybe we could get somebody up that has more upside and more of a chance to be part of the future.
  18. The comments are more about the front office and the decision makers. I am not seeing a derogatory comment about the pitcher himself. If I am missing something, please tell me. The front office, meaning Zoll deserve all the criticism they get and it is part of the job.
  19. A team full of utility players and with at least a quarter of the players only worthy of being the 26th man on most teams is not a contending team. One series is not going to change that. Just because they are deluding themselves into thinking they are doesn't make it so.
  20. I figured that it was tongue in cheek. Wanted to give credit to the genius, Falvey.
  21. They would need a willing trade partner and I am not sure there is one out there. I do agree with you on the attachment that fans have for mediocre players. Let's try and raise the bar on the talent level on this team for once.
  22. Lewis was a first round draft pick and number 1 pick with a larger investment than what was invested for Clemens. This has been going on in all sports since the beginning of time of who gets more chances and who doesn't. And Lewis has actually had more success in his career than Clemens. He doesn't have a position because the Twins haven't committed to a position for him. Now the argument can be made that the Twins have given Lewis enough chances and it is time to move on and that is fair. I am not in that camp, I think Lewis should be here until the end of the year and then make a decision.
  23. These bullpen moves tell me that nothing has really changed in the front office. Falvey created a culture of 'we are the smartest in the room" and that does not appear to be changing. Let's purge this whole front office and get some competent baseball executives to run this organization.
