    I may be the only one asking this question, but I feel it needs to be asked. The taxpayers paid for Jax to attend the Air Force Academy because he signed a contract and swore an oath to protect and defend the United States of America for 4 years in the Air Force after graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy. Now, less than 1 year after his graduation, the taxpayers are paying Jax's salary, not to serve in the Air Force the remaining 3 years of his commitment, but rather the taxpayers are paying him $50,000 a year to play minor league baseball because he is a world class baseball player? Just asking.

    The Twins have been playing without the two starters at the two most important defensive positions: CF and SS. The CF'er won the award as the best defensive player in the American League last year.He is the fastest player in the major leagues. This has been a critical loss. The SS is a major league starting SS who batted 3rd a lot last season. There was an element of comfort with Polanco. The Twins also have been playing without their best starting pitcher from last year, who last year, appeared to be a positive influence, not only on Berrios, but on the entire team.. I am afraid that I also agree with the previous comment in this thread that the chemistry of Lynn, Rodney, Morrison may be toxic. None of those three appear to me to be team oriented players. To put it as kindly as I can, they all appear to be unique individuals. Add that to the mix. However all is not lost...yet. The leaders in the clubhouse, whomever they may be, need to step up, and if they feel they have been doing so, then try something different because this ain't working.

    What about 3B Andrew Bechtold being shifted to catcher? He has good size and a 60 rated arm. However maybe catcher is a position which takes more years to learn than other positions? Can the Twins get a good young catcher by a trade. Does any organization have an excess of young catchers? The Twins are 1 injury away from calling up a minor league catcher. Who would be called up in the event of an injury to Castro or Garver?

    Of all Twins' prospects, I feel Rortvelt is in the top 5 who need to progress the quickest and be major league ready the soonest. Who else do the Twinkies have in the minors who can shift positions to become a successful major league catcher?

    22 to 4 so far in 2 games. The Yankees are laughing at us. Coming on the heels of losing 3 to the Rays, including a Carlos Gomez walk-off. I sure hope this is the low point of the season.

    Just for argument's sake, will someone please put forth the best argument that can be made for keeping Kinley on the 25 man roster. I tried, but just can't figure this out.

    Thank you Luke for a great story about a great trip! Father/ son baseball trips are special to me also. Just this week I emailed my son who is now an adult, about a trip we took to Atlanta to see the Braves, only to sit in the rain an hour and a half, eating soggy nachos, only to have the game cancelled. We had to return to North Carolina, driving all the way in the rain. We even had car trouble on the drive down to Georgia. In my email to my son I said: "It was a bad road trip". My son emailed me back and said the following: "And yet all that I remember was getting to go to a major league baseball game with my dad and his friend. Sounds like a pretty good trip to me." That, my TD friends, brought tears to my eyes. I emailed my son back and told him I loved him.
