  1. I hear what you are saying, but it seems like the best team doesn't necessarily win it every year. I can't say that when the Royals won it, I thought they were the best team in the playoffs for example.
  2. I tend to think that the playoffs are all about who gets hot at the right time.
  3. Indians smell blood in the water, but they have tough games coming up as well.
  4. It's tough to put a finger on. I realize Cave is having a good game, but it's almost like we are just a more confident team with more swagger with Buck in the lineup.
  5. Not exactly answering the bell are we? Tough to watch, but we are just a different ball club without Buxton.
  6. 1. Most quotable movies: "The Princess Bride," "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," or "Caddy Shack?" None of those - Bull Durham #1...but if I had to pick, I'm staying sports and going Caddy Shack. 2. Most quotable sports figure: Muhammad Ali or Yogi Berra? Most is Yogi, most memorable is Ali 3. Most quotable cartoon: Bugs Bunny or Road Runner? Bugs Bunny 4. Most quotable writer: Douglas Adams or Dorothy Parker? Hmmmm....how about Scott Adams?
  7. Calm down...Cleveland got smoked by the stro's so we lost no ground...didn't put them any further in the mirror either...but we will. Cleveland's record against teams >.500 is 16-23 while ours is 29-24. Of the next 26 games for the Tribe, only 6 are against teams with a losing record. Of the next 28 games for the Twins, 15 of them are against teams with losing records. September also works in our favor slightly, but August is where we pull away.
  8. Well that hurt. Need to point out that the grand slam from last night affected this game and now the next game since Rogers has now thrown 3 straight. Disappointing for Dyson, but we need him tomorrow.
  9. It was advantage Astros before any Astros trades.
  10. Hope this is true...Astros get Greinke. Wow! Hope he throws against Cleveland tonight.
  11. Shane Greene would have looked good on our team.
  12. I don't see much trading happening by the Twins or anyone else. Maybe there will be a flurry, but the asking prices are too high for a lot of teams to mortgage the future for a maybe.
  13. I feel like Diaz was probably 6th or so in line for 1B. We get a hard throwing prospect that may one day help us whereas Diaz probably would not. Call it even. Oh and we got this Romo guy who should fill a bullpen spot...and a ptbnl. We win.
  14. They are winning by 1 run over bad teams...teams that they should be blowing out. We got this. We are the better team and their schedule changes after July. Also, look at the last 3 weeks of the season for them and the Twins. No comparison. They play 2 teams with losing records (White Sox and Tigers). Twins play the Nats at home, Cleveland on the road, and then it's White Sox, Tigers, Royals the rest of the way. Twins win the division.
  15. In years past, we would have rolled over. We didn't, and they didn't. I feel like these two teams are evenly matched based on the sum of the games played so far this year.
  16. We all know who won that game. That was strike 3 in the eight against any other team.
  17. Hosed. Umps give the Yankees calls and no one in media talks about it.

The fist pump to me showed me that perhaps he is struggling with his confidence right now....and he should be...especially in the curve ball that continues to get hammered. Visually, it looks good, but it must also look good to the hitter because it is taking a ride that should have a flight attendant. So, that sort of eliminates a pitch from his arsenal. And I do have to point out that he was blowing a guy away with his fastball and then threw a curve that got whacked...why? Don't know if he shook off the catcher or not, but that was the wrong call.
  19. Curious what Trevor May's role will be going forward. Pretty tough to trust him at the moment, but it should make it clear to the FO that the need to bolster the bullpen is even greater now.
  20. I'm curious how many right field warning track balls will be hit by the Bombers being used to the short right field fence.
  21. This is tough to watch. We are watching an 11.5 game lead dwindle to nothing. Granted, we are playing tough teams while Cleveland is playing the equivalent of a bunch of minor league squads, but if we want to show we are ready for the big time, we gotta put on our big boy pants and play ball for 9 innings.
