  1. I watched the first 5 innings and it just seemed like Sabathia's strike zone was huge while Berrios threw at least 4 strikes that were not called. Let me put it this way, if a lefty can throw a slider and hit the outside corner to a right handed hitter, a right handed pitcher should get the call when he hits the same spot with his fastball. The Yankees are good enough that they didn't need help and yet they got it.
  2. Yup. There is a zero percent chance that the Twins will win a game in Yankee Stadium with the two teams being given different strike zones. Add to it that a check swing by a Yankee is almost never called a strike, and I'm not sure why we even play here.
  3. We are in a bit of a funk...normally, a rain out is just what the doctor ordered, but that is the last thing this team needs.
  4. Well, you said she went away mad...perhaps she had some expectations that you were oblivious to...and then she called back...perhaps she wanted a second chance (for the mare of course). Just saying that an opportunity missed is an opportunity lost.
  5. There are so many different directions I could go on this...and all of them would get me banned from TD.
  6. Yadi Molina. Best defensive catcher in baseball for like 15 years. Batted .284 which isn't bad for a great defensive catcher.

    Machado

Pretty early...I said that the Angels were a train wreck in ST and now they're 13-5. Ohtani looks great and Pujols has found the fountain of youth....so, what do I know? Although, I still think Ohtani doesn't like inside fastballs and I still think Pujols will fade as the year goes...but, what do I know? Baltimore is off to a lousy 5-14 start and play in a tough division. Machado is only 25 years old, makes 16 mill plus incentives and should hit free agency next year. Unless they plan on paying him a bunch for 5-6 years, they should trade him. So, who is in win now mode and has the prospects to get the deal done...and needs a SS or a 3B? Odds are, if you are in the hunt, you have both, but the Twins would look good with him at SS. No disrespect to EE, but MM would be interesting.
  8. Hmmm. Based on current numbers, tough to say. 5 more years of playing puts him around 650 more hits if he keeps hitting for his current average and plays 1B full time. However, there is one more factor that hasn't been discussed - likability. It's easy to vote for a guy that's humble, and easy to like vs.....oh, say...Gary Sheffield?
  9. Belisle owes us. Logan Morrison for the win.
  10. I concur...can't watch strike 3. Gotta put it in play or at least try...a walk does nothing in that situation.
  11. No one should be shocked by that.
  12. The one thing you can't do...take strike 3.
  13. You gotta shoot this to the right side...or bunt for the win.
  14. Not liking our odds in this one, but at least Berrios looked good in front of the home crowd. 1 run in 20 innings...I'd say we are a little rusty. That and a really good pitching staff. Kepleroni out with a knee injury. Buxton on 10 day DL...how quickly things change. Zack Granite anyone? or Jake Cave?
  15. 10 day DL retroactive to April 15.
  16. So, dumb question...why wasn't a game like this on MLB network or on ESPN?...Oh wait, nev mind, the Yankees were playing.
  17. Given the announcers and the crowd, it doesn't feel like a home game.
  18. Buxton a scratch with a migrane, so Kepler in center and Grossman in right.
  19. Pittsburg fans at spring training complained about being in "rebuilding mode" for 25 years. I'm not sure the Browns have ever been rebuilding...more like recovering.
  20. I think there are some Pittsburg fans who may argue.
  21. Going off topic a bit. Early on in this thread, guys were discussing Tampa Bay and their rebuilding, etc. Having been to Tropicana Field, it got me wondering - Is Tampa Bay the equivalent of Cleveland in the NFL? If not Tampa, who is the Cleveland Browns equivalent in MLB?
