  1. Dude don't hate on me man for passing along the truth. http://www.startribune.com/jack-morris-miguel-sano-is-around-280-pounds/374529411/
  2. That's incorrect. He was around 283 back in April of this year and he certainly hasn't lost any weight from last season.
  3. Oh that's right he was drafted 16th. So no Buxton. My bad.
  4. Trade as many pieces as possible dump that which is practical. Trade or DFA Nolasco & Santana. Hughes is unmovable at this point. If Gibson finishes the season the way he started the Twins will have to decide if he's worth tendering a contract too or outright releasing him.
  5. I said that a couple of years ago. Twins could have taken Giolito but it would have meant we wouldn't have gotten Berrios.
  6. I am of the opinion that the Twins have broken this young man's (Trevor May) spirit by banishing him to the bullpen. It's true that he's had his ups and down early in his career. However, he was clearly on his way to becoming one of the club's most dependable starters last season before being thrown in the bullpen for no other reason than a terrible bullpen. What do the Twins do in the offseason to address the situation? NOTHING. Abad was a dump pickup and they go lucky. How can guys like Berrios, Meyer an May grow as professionals when the Twins freak out at them while asking them to take lumps for the team? It makes no sense. Now that it's become apparent that Trevor is not moving back into the rotation the kid is demoralized and his performance has dropped off sharply. How stupid is the front office? Phil Hughes could be done for the season, Santana has been horrible, Nolasco has been terrible for most of the season, Gibson has been awful when healthy, Duffey hasn't been much better lately and Dean is a soft tossing lefty that is barely serviceable.
  7. Agreed. Let him go so that he can have a career with someone else. It's not fair to Arcia.
  8. Dude he's 6'-4" and 278 pounds. He's not exactly lean more like porky.
  9. This thread is beyond pointless. The Royals have publically stated that they are not shopping Ventura and the Twins wouldn't touch him with a 10' pole anyways as long as TR is in charge. Besides, why on earth would the Royals take Nolasco off our hands in exchange? Makes zero sense. Not sure why some TD members post these preposterous trade ideas. First of all they wouldn't trade a promising younger starter to an inter divisional rival, two they wouldn't trade for a washed up crybaby starter with a career 5 era who wants to go back to California anyways and three Dayton Moore wouldn't take on such an expensive contract unless the guy is ACTUALLY GOOD.
  10. Yeah the Wilson Ramos stat really hurts. What a boondoggle trade that was. Ughhh.
  11. Mega dittos on this comment. J.T. has been lights out this season in AAA continuing his streak from 2015 when he was lights out in AA. I for one am BAFFLED that he hasn't been called up considering how awful the bullpen has been this season. I mean how much more proof does Ryan need? 10 games at AAA, 11 innings, 0.82 ERA, 19 k's? Oh yeah he's also racked up 11 innings in AA this season as well with very similar numbers. For goodness sake call this kid up already! Jepsen is HORRIBLE!
  12. Last nights start against the A's wasn't so good. I think better teams will hit him hard.
  13. Hmmmmm......... i wonder how that would effect attendance numbers, would Jim allow it?
  14. And a lack of understanding & development as the FO drafts more of these higher velocity / strikeout pitchers like May, Meyer, Berrios, Chargois and others. The coaches lack of patience with these guys is stunning considering what it took to bring them into the fold. I wonder if Molitor & Allen see these flame throwing pitchers and don't know what to do when they struggle with command and location. They are so used to refined control pitchers it's probably a shock to them. Right? That said, the future is not with Pat Dean, Matt Albers, Tommy Milone or Ricky Nolasco.
  15. I'm skeptical of Dean. If he continues like this by all means let him start, but a guy that throws mid 80's on his fastball at times?
  16. Yep. The only thing i can think of is finally cut bait with Nolasco when Gibson comes back. It is LITERALLY POINTLESS to keep Ricky on the roster anymore.
  17. I have sobered up to the fact that Ryan will not shake things up and continue to bang through this miserable season without any significant changes. Molitor will still be manager by seaons end along with bruno even though this offense will set many Twins records for futility by seasons end. On the pitching side of things, we will continue to see short stats from Nolasco whose struggled mightly his WHOLE career with the Twins despite the fact that we have younger options that will be immediately better because of FILTHY FREAKING MONEY! They will continue to sign AAA retreads for the bullpen and OF in a futile attempt to save face and avoid 100 losses instead of calling up youngsters for extended tryouts. Guys like Buxton, Berrios, Polanco, Meyer, Chargois, etc. Not all of them will be ready (see Buxton & Berrios), but you have to give them extended looks to see what hand you've been dealt. Plopping them on the bench for 5-10 games and then demoting them at a convenient times is not how you handle top prospects. This is the growing body of evidence that Molitor is impatient and not willing to go through the pain of losing in order to grow. What's needed is a manager that will mentor these callups and allow them that initial experience so that 2017 is not a total loss either. My vote is Doug Mientkiewicz but there are other candidates too. Shakes head. This FO is utterly clueless. Time to blow this organization up, top to bottom. The question is when will Jim Pohlad realize that or care.
  18. Nolasco starts. Never ending nightmare.
  19. Honestly, I've just about had enough of this. This FO is just stupid! Ownership, the GM and the Manager all in Denial! The evidence is all over the diamond. The continued starts by Nolasco, pointless yoyo callups & demotions despite the fact that we have several veterans hitting right around 200, the continued Sano outfield experiment which has failed miserably so far, stubborn lack of meaningful changes to the bullpen despite the fact that there are several high power options down there that could help right now.
  20. Not sure why everyone is shocked by this. Dozier has never finished a season hitting better than .244. I agree though. Right now he needs to be moved way down in the order.
  21. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. Dozier, Pouffe, Perkins are trying to act like leaders in the clubhouse (Mauer is not trying and we all know that) and the younger guys are literally laughing at them and mocking them. Why would you respect those supposed wise veterans when they are producing next to nothing. And in the case of Perkins, a guy who has acted like a spoiled brat in the past and thrown young callups under the bus in front of the media. (Pinto).
  22. Just the illegal ones.
  23. Judging by the yoyo promotions and demotions it appears to me that Molitor has zero patience for the youngsters. You can't coddle these guys forever in AAA. But a guy with Berrio's skills should get 6 or 7 starts before jumping the gun and sending him back down to AAA. Molitor seems to want instant perfection from these callups and that just isn't going to happen. This is not a playoff bound team and probably not a .500 team. Let these kids play gosh darnit. If this is how you are going to manage the rest of the season you are definitely not the right guy for the job.
  24. Agreed Dave. I don't understand this move unless Berrios wasn't getting the catcher's signals or doing something fundamentally wrong. The Twins are behaving like they are going to run off a 15-5 streak or something like that and get back in contention. IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN RYAN or MOLITOR! Let the kids play damnit! If he has 2 or 3 more horrendous starts like the last then yeah you send him back down because he's not ready. But at some point you've gotta start working these kids into the lineup / rotation and its not always going to be pretty. But you have to do it. They are not all going to start out 10-0 or hit .300 with 20 homeruns right out of the starting gate. This move SCREAMS DESPERATE front office.
