  1. I'm not going to draw conclusions for a few more years, but his inability to hit the breaking ball stuff is concerning.
  2. Hitters have figured him out. That's the problem with trying to be a two pitch starter. It's one pitch or the other and once hitters see enough tape it's much easier to predict. That's why i think the Twins are insane leaving May in the bullpen. Guy has 4 legit pitches. Rediculous. here's what i think is going to happen, like it or not. Starters Santana Hughes Gibson Nolasco Milone Relief Pitchers: May AAA: Berrios Duffey
  3. Agreed. I hold some hope that Murphy will be a decent catcher for Minnesota but we shall see.
  4. Uhhh.....that's torture
  5. OR OR he is the one guy that is a team player and won't whine incessantly about being sent to the pen or AAA (see Nolasco & Milone). Duffey was the unexpected wild card.
  6. Wow May is getting the shaft. Guy should be starting.
  7. Boy i hope they don't think that. A guy with his STUFF and 4 pitches that's starter material. If they never let May become a starter I will lose a ton of respect for this manager and front office
  8. My concern is Duffey and Nolasco. I'm a bit suprised that they made this decision so quickly given how badly Duffey and Nolasco have pitched so far. Don't think for a second too that if Duffey gets off to a slow start that he won't be demoted in favor of Nolasco regardless of how badly he pitches because of the albatross contract. And like i said before. Milone is a 4th or 5th starter tops and we saw that against better competition last season. I don't buy the argument that the Twins saw how the bullpen was shaping up and pulled the panic lever (demoting May to the pen), because of how things were shaping up down there. I just don't. Runzler, Abad, Chargois, Kintzler, O'Rourke, Burdi and Reed have all pitched well so far. A far cry from a desperation situation in the pen. The Twins are throwing up smoke and mirrors again. There never was or has been an open competition for rotation spots.
  9. Well the Twins are collectively screwing themselves and Trevor by doing this. Just so they don't piss off Nolasco and Milone both of whom are inferior talent in comparison. They are holding May back and when he approaches free agency he'll remember this and will leave the Twins for another franchise that will allow him to be a starter and whom actually cares about winning over money and washed up egos. Simple as that and i wouldn't blame him one bit if he holds a grudge from this happening two years in a row. See ya jerks.
  10. This is my NUMBER 1 gripe with MLB. Fully guaranteed contracts are a disaster for professional sports franchises. This kind of contract gives WAY to much power to the individual player and allows slackers (see Mauer) to haunt a team for years, handcuffs a team into keeping cheaters / dopers (Arod & Santana), and gives them virtually no recourse against clubhouse cancers (Nolasco, Garza, etc.) who cause major problems once they get paid. .
  11. All i need to see. Guy should have a legitimate shot at the rotation this year, ahead of Milone, Nolasco and Berrios.
  12. Only if he earns it. If he's terrible in ST as a starter or reliever off with his head.
  13. We'll the saying "it is what it is" holds meaning here. So while i agree he was immature to tweet back the extra emphasis (explanation points) says it all. I don't think the fans are being immature for "reading into that tweet." It's obvious he's not happy here and only came for the pay day.
  14. Let him "BLOW UP". If he has any brains at all he's stashed away a significant sum of moneysetting up subsequent NOLASCO generations for life. However, If he has any inkling of resurrecting a pathetic career he had better be working his tail off and on good behavior or he'll never pitch again at what he's earning with Minnesota.
  15. I'd tell his agent. Your client is going to have to earn a starting gig or he's going to the pen possibly AAA. If he doesn't like walkaway and don't let the door hit ya on the way out.
  16. "Is Eduardo Escobar For Real?" He's fake
  17. My sentiment exactly. He's nothing special. League average defensive 3rd baseman at best with a bit of pop to his bat, prone to streak hitting, sub .250 hitter consistently. That said, compared to what the Twins had for years after Koskie he's an improvement. What surprises me is the eagerness to move Sano to the outfield. Plouffe is only under contract for one more year. If they don't sign him to an extension after next season (2017) he's a free agent.
  18. whatever man. literal in everything you type and say are we?
  19. I beg to differ and i don't think it's "blowing things out of perspective." If its "just a thing Molitor said one day," he wouldn't have said it. PERIOD. Look at what the news outlets are saying. "Paul Molitor said on Wednesday that -- barring an injury to Trevor Plouffe -- Sano isn't expected to see time at his former third-base position." -The Chattanoogan Sounds pretty definitive if you ask me. And yes, i do understand the definition of proclamation and the Twins are notorious for making "proclamations" about certain players in the past. I don't think ANYONE here believes this is 100% etched in stone (or a notarized legal document to be used in court as you put), but the fact remains that Molitor said it to the media and Ryan has more or less reiterated this is pretty damning don't you think?
  20. Of course it's speculation and a little sarcasm for that matter. Do you want me to hand it to you on a silver spoon?
  21. I don't understand these proclamations the Twins make. Why do it? If he plays the whole season in the outfield so be it. If he subs a few games at 3rd when Plouffe is off fine by me. Weird.
  22. Already called it. Long term extension is in the works for Plouffe.
  23. You can't deny that he was WAY over hyped as a prospect. Not only was his velocity greatly exaggerated (throws upper 80's and low 90's at best), but the strikeouts have not materialized. This does not bode well for a #4 draft pick and the expectations when he was drafted by Minnesota. So yeah his floor is possible bust given where he was drafted and maybe #3 starter at best, unless things radically change. I HOPE he does well this season, but he certainly hasn't made a big splash yet compared to a guy named Berrios who was drafted 32! This year we'll know more.
