  1. I don't disagree but like i said mediocre talent is mediocre talent. And if you don't trade for soon to be MLB talent you have to develop it from the draft so we are back to square one again. There is no easy way around this.
  2. Look i appreciate the optimism and focus on strength training which is thinking outside the box for this organization, but there is no way around the mediocre talent this team currently has. There isn't some trick that is going to magically make this staff better. The Twins have to draft better talent and develop it more effectively end of story.
  3. I remain convinced that this is Molitor's last season as manager. Jeff Pickler was hired by Levine and Falvey to keep a tight leash on Paul. Jeff Smith was hired to relieve Vavra from coaching the catcherd an unmitigated disaster for this franchise. changes are definitely coming.
  4. YEPPPPP....In my eyes its gotta be either Green or Faedo.
  5. I think Stewart is a major bust and Gonsalves is a #4.... maybe, but that's just my opinion.
  6. I look at Gibson and Santiago as being in the same boat. Santiago has had a better career so far while Gibson has had short spurts of competency followed by long stretches of mediocrity and utter futility such as 2016. I for one would not miss either one if we had better options available. Hopefully this season May and Berrios step up and make these guys surplus. I'm not holding my breath that happens though. Minus Milone and Nolasco we have the same rotation this season that we ended last year with. The wild card is Hughes and i'm not expecting much from him at this point.
  7. No i don't mean that.
  8. One of my all-time favorites but this does nothing to help rebuild this team. The new management is really grasping for straws right now. Not good.
  9. Tyler Duffey and Kyle Gibson each had 25-26 starts (8 "quality starts"). Ricky Nolasco had another atrocious season. In 21 starts (10 quality) he had a 5+ era. Hector Santiago and Tommy Milone COMBINED for 23 starts (6 "quality) and a 5+ era. Phil Hughes was injured for most of the season and only made 11 starts, (6 quality). In summary the Twins had a HORRENDOUS starting rotation last year. Pretty much everything that could go wrong did go wrong with the exception of Ervin Santana's season. Scary thing is we essentially have the same rotation minus Nolasco and Milone. May, Berrios and Mejia are the wild cards. Everyone should be on a short leash with the exception of Santana.
  10. Do not understate what this man did. He did MORE THAN "looked at their scouting reports", he looked at individual player person-ell files, reviewed how they evaluated players they intended to draft, scouting processes, etc. This man stole organizational proprietary information which is a BIG BIG crime in corporate America. Sorry! he deserves every day, ever hour every second of that 4 years. Inexcusable.
  11. I just wonder how much of a money wrench Molitor will try to throw into the situation. We have 7 potential starters again? (Duffey, May, Gibson, Santiago, Meija, Santana and Berrios). I guess you could count Haley and Vogelsong but they are on the fringe looking in.
  12. Not to change the subject but that pic. reminds me of my lab through age 3. Crazy crazy crazy.
  13. The upside is the high draft picks which can in theory if done properly bring in premium talent.
  14. I think he deserves serious consideration. I would like to see what he can do at the major league level despite the strikeouts.
  15. I'm not gonna step in that. All I'm saying is that we need more higher level pitching prospects before these hitters gets further along or we could end up in the same scenario the Texas Rangers were in during the early 2000's.
  16. Exactly how i feel. By the time we have a decent competitive rotation, Buxton, Kepler and Sano could all be approaching arbitration and free agency. Waste.
  17. That was my interpretation of that hire. Basically a coach to keep an eye on Molitor and reign in a somewhat unpredictable factor.
  18. I echo your sentiments. Very disappointing off-season. Sure Falvey and Levine have not had much time to get immersed within the organization but they appear content to roll with what they have. Perhaps patience is the key here.
  19. Maybe, maybe not. The Dodgers are just being greedy and foolish. Their FO is so arrogant they think they can bully the Twins and other franchises into giving them star players for peanuts. It's not gonna happen Friedman. Put Alvarez and JDL on the table together and we'll get this done, if not SEE YA!!
  20. HUH? ....uh no. Let's just go get veteran players that provide leadership, have a positive impact in the clubhouse, increase the win total for the team while leaving the race politics and hustling to the slimy politicians. There's no room for that garbage in the clubhouse.
  21. Yeah the Coliseum has seen much better days, that place is a toilet bowl of a stadium.
  22. A matter of when.
  23. Yeah no kidding. That place is HUGE...
  24. So..... the 1 for 1 swap rumors appear again. If that's truly the case then it should'n't surprise anyone and seems to fly in the face of the rumors we were hearing early on. I'm just disappointed that the Twins couldn't negotiate a better deal for themselves. That said, I don't blame them for walking away. JDL + junk for Dozier straight up is insanely lopsided. The Dodgers must feel they are completely in the driver's seat. All i can say is "see ya, if you want to make a serious next season we'll listen."
