    I don't agree with this. Tall individuals appear to lack fine motor control because of their larger limb size and in general we (most average sized people) are not accustomed to seeing larger individuals on a regular basis and therefore interpret those visual movements as clumsiness and awkwardness, aka lack of fine motor control. But that is a visual perception problem. I will agree though that in general larger individuals are slower because of body mass difference. I'm 6'-5" and I played multiple sports in high school and college, but was never a speedster. Generally speaking once you get over 6'-3" you start to slow down because your just.... bigger. And when you get to 6'-8" to 6'-9" the difference is even more pronounced. But to say they lack fine motor control as rule of thumb? Well that's a fallacy and a generalization based on the brain misinterpreting what it's seeing visually.

    And why did you down vote my post? just curious. Is it because i pointed out the debt from the Pohlads being shifted to the Twins franchise? That's fact, not conjecture.

    I very much doubt it. In various offensive metrics, the team generally ranked around 23-24th out of 30 mlb teams. Much of that rides on the shoulders of Royce and Correa who both had horrendous seasons with the Twins last year. Unless the Twins add SEVERAL talented young hitters and Royce has a major turn around, this team is gonna be worse not better in 2026 and that's completely ignoring the bullpen. ZERO chance the Twins compete in the Central in 2026

    I tend to agree. I don't think Ryan or Lopez will be on the roster come spring training and if the Athletic and it's "insider" Twin's source is correct, Buxton might get dealt as well. My take is that the Pohlads know a work stoppage is coming 2027 and they have tons of debt piled on the team and are looking to slash payroll even further to pay it down even with the new limited partners.

    Don't forget the 400 million in debt the Pohlads shifted to the franchise from their commercial real-estate holdings. The debt is REAL, a good chunk of which came from Carousel Motors, which they are selling. I think this is why they are bringing the limited partners into the fold to try and raise quick cash and supplement the steep losses they've incurred the last few years. Reportedly they are running a 40 million a year deficit on the Twins. If that's true (and I have my doubts) they possibly could slash payroll even further and the next logical candidates to do so are Lopez, Ryan, and Buxton (assuming he waves his no trade clause). It makes sense that they try and do this and pile up as much cash with a majority pre-arbitration payroll prior to 2027 as it's very likely MLB is gonna experience a work stoppage with the collective bargaining agreement expiring.

    When it comes to insider negotiations in sports leagues there are no absolutes. All of this information i've hard and you've heard is all second hand or third hand reports. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I wouldn't say there is not a possibility 2027 is a lockout season. In fact, I think it's very likely. The owners DO WANT a hard salary cap with the exception of a handful of big market franchises who happen to be the most vocal drowning out the smaller market teams. Sure, the owners are making money but the problem is the spread. The team that won the world series this season spent 150 million more than the runner up and they spent 250 million. So the Dodgers spent roughly 250-300 million more than many of the middle and small market franchises which is 2/3 of the league. That can't continue and the league knows it. Manfred wants to expand and add teams and aside from settling the A's, Devil Rays, and Marlin's situations the last big hurdle to expansion is the salary cap fiasco. It's now or never.

    Didn't the Pohlads say that they were "limited minority owner partners"? I could be wrong. Meaning they have limited say in the day to day operations of the Twins and their payroll?

    From what i've heard the issue of a hard salary cap is gonna be first foremost on the table in 2027 and this time around the owners are not gonna except no for an answer. At least that's what I've hard. Meaning no play in 2027 and possibly 2028 too. That's part of the reason I think the Pohlads dumped so much salary and might dump more. People forget they are 400 million in the hole from their commercial real-estate holdings and were supposedly losing 40 million a year on the Twins the last few years.

    It sounds like Buxton might be drawing a bit of a red line in the sand with Falvey. You trade Lopez or Ryan and I might consider waiving my no trade clause. That's about as close to a trade me statement if you make moves x,y, or z without officially stating it. Here's what Dan Hayes wrote in the Athletic. Byron Buxton might waive his no-trade clause? That's the word from Twins insider Dan Hayes, who, in a report for The Athletic, said Buxton might be open to being traded to a contender if Minnesota tears down the roster any more than it already has. Hayes wrote that Buxton "wants to play for a winner and may reconsider his stance for certain clubs if the Twins continue breaking up their roster, potentially by trading starting pitchers Joe Ryan or Pablo López."

    Twins insider source stated that Ryan was more likely to be moved than Lopez due to interest but either one could get trade. Apparently the Twins aren't willing to trade both. My guess would be Lopez because of his 21.5 million plus salary. This is all in preparation for the 2027 work stoppage that will probably result in a lost season. Twins are going cheap cheap again like the 90's and will claim to be dirt poor during that lost season. If Lopez is traded they are gonna be at what? 68 million in payroll projected? I've also heard grumblings that Buxton is considering waiving his no trade clause as he does not want to have to go through another full rebuild. If the Twins end up dealing him too, they are down to say 53 million? That would be crazy.

    Well see. If they are trying to quickly recoup loses it might be 2027, 2028.....2030, before we see a team with a chance to win.

    Exactly. Baldelli's firing was not Falvey's decision. It was almost 100% a Pohlad decision. Falvey liked Baldelli to the point that he extended him.

    I'm not drinking the cool aid after the last few seasons with Rocco at the helm. I've been scouring fan forums frequented by Pirate's fans since the news broke and NONE of them have positive things to say about Shelton. It's almost all very negative stuff. The general consensus was that he was an AWFUL manager of his young players and most fans prefaced their explanations by saying they understood the ridiculous payroll limitations placed on him by Bob Nutting and limited talent, but the constant mistakes and lack of accountability on the field for bone headed player decisions went unchecked. According to them he literally did nothing about it and was nonchalant the whole time. That to me sounds A LOT like Rocco. Actually, it could be worse if he really was that apathetic. Baldelli, would get mad at the umpires, and get thrown out sometimes. Not good folks, not good at all.

    I've been scouring fan forums frequented by Pirate's fans since the news broke and NONE of them have positive things to say about Shelton. Like it's 99.9999% all negative stuff. They all said he was an AWFUL manager in his tenure and most prefaced it by saying they understood the ridiculous payroll limitations placed on him by Bob Nutting. The key thing most pointed out was that he was terrible with developing young players once they reached the major league team and he let them get away with ridiculous mistakes on the field AND on the base paths. Guy literally did nothing about it. That to me sounds A LOT like Rocco. Not good folks, not good at all.

    I'd guess much closer to 90 million possibly less. I don't think they are done cutting payroll. I fully expect Pablo Lopez to be shipped out fairly quickly for prospects. He's the most valuable chip they have besides Ryan and Buxton who is not going to be traded unless he gets so fed up with how things are going that he waives his no trade clause.
