  1. I would rather have Trevor May back in the rotation in 2016. No disrespect to Tyler Duffy but he has only pitched a few games and I would not be so quick to anoint him as the next big thing for the rotation. We will see how he good he is after teams study him better and see if he can still be successful. My biggest point to make is you can have a 3 headed monster like KC has right now, but you still need to a solid starter to get through the first 6 innings or more.
  2. I have to disagree with you that location is the reason nobody comes to games. When you look back when they made the playoffs in the past they had serious trouble getting fans to show up. Florida gets their fill of baseball in the spring and don't care about it during the season.
  3. How sad and depressing is it to watch the Twins playing in such a crappy stadium. I am still in disbelief how bad the turf looks in the outfield and how empty the place is. MLB do the Rays a favor and get the ball rolling and have them in Montreal ASAP. Pray for 2016 or 2017 Rays fans.
  4. I think he already is becoming a superstar. The only sad part is what happens 6 years from now when we have nothing but the great memories of him as he signs a $200M contract for the insert an AL east team here...
  5. Trevor May belongs in the rotation. short & sweet.
  6. I almost thought about an Elvis Andrus for any of the horrible contracts until I saw the length of the deal.
  7. Yahoo fantasy rankings 34th best first base men in the majors. Not bad when you consider there are 30 teams. 239th overall.
  8. I don't feel the same about his work in the field. He looks like he doesn't know to position himself at times and just does not rate very high by me. Call it anti Mauer all you want. People would get off his back if he could hit .300 at least. 33 extra base hits in 122 games is just sad. Sano 44 games 23 extra base hits.
  9. Was. Mauer cannot catch or will not anymore. So throwing out past performance which player would be more important to the current team? If this is trolling so be it. It was not my intention.
  10. Please, please, please, say it is so Joe.
  11. Which player is still a catcher and has a higher batting average? I will give you just one guess...
  12. I know one spot where he would not in either would be as a broadcaster. Could you imagine a Joe Mauer Tom Kelly tandem doing a broadcast? They would put everyone to sleep by the 2nd inning.
  13. I don't want this to turn into another "lets' destroy Mauer post". My question is pretty simple, has Tom Kelly worked with Joe Mauer at all to be a better player in the field? If I am correct Justin Morneau credits TK for helping him change positions to turn into a good 1st basemen. I would like to at least see some improvement in his defensive skills. At times he just looks lost trying to play first. Step 2 would be to find his stroke and at least hit .300. We know the power will not return but at least get the average back. PS I can't wait for 2018 to be over with...
  14. Can he play one of the following positions which are the glaring holes the Twins have? 1. Shortstop 2. Catcher 3. First Base Those are the 3 biggest holes that need to be filled.
  15. Just look at last year and see how he wore down. He is clearly not capable of pitching the entire season.
  16. The real question would be he was the last quality SS to play for the Twins? Christian Guzman? Am i missing someone, pretty bad when you have to go back to 2004 for a decent choice. Or you could say the one season with a hurt JJ Hardy. For a team with so many high draft choices and this supposedly great system they just can't develop any talent at SS or catcher for over 10 years. Time for heads to roll and hire people who can actually scout and develop some talent.
  17. Shields can opt out after 2016 but I doubt he would since he is going to be making like $21M per year. just a thought, we trade for him and he has a great year and we get burned.
  18. XXX was Vin Diesel. not a bad movie.
  19. About time they pull their heads out of somewhere(not sure where that could be) and put May back into the rotation. He could turn into the 3rd starter next year if he can continue to show improvements. You gotta laugh when the Twins traded Revere & Span everyone said Alex Meyer was the superior pitcher. Guess they have been proved wrong.
  20. please kill this feed. he would not sign a 8 year $80M offer let alone a 15 year deal. maybe Salvador Pérez agent would think it was a good deal but no one else would.
  21. Trevor May The Denard Span trade might have finally have paid off. Well, half of it anyways. May has had a terrific 2015 season following a disappointing 2014. Although bright, his future with the team is unknown as he could be a great bottom of the rotation starter, or dominant setup man. He was moved to the bullpen following the return of Ervin Santana. He could be a great sell high candidate in the coming offseason. Close but no cigar, Trevor May was part of the Ben Revere trade along with Vance Worley. Nice article but figured I would correct the minor mistake. One last part why was Joe Mauer left off the list? We need to find someone who could play first base and not be a liability in the field and at the plate. Maybe Plouffe could either switch to first or Sano could just play there.
  22. May in the rotation by April will be the nonsense that we will be stuck with.
  23. Shields may be better but it is the length of the deal and the added money that makes me say no to a deal. I would not put in a claim for Shields they will make you take him for nothing just to get that bad deal off their books.
  24. Someone please end this Shileds for Nolasco talk. Why take on more salary and a longer contract. Did everyone forget Nolasco won 5 games in May and pitched decent when he was healthy. I would rather hold onto him then take on a worse deal.
  25. So why was he moved from catcher again? Too big for the position or because we already had a franchise catcher in the majors then.
