    yuck. no clue what they are thinking with this signing. even an option for 2020 for a guy who should have been signed to a minor league deal. losing what hope i have more everyday in them. I would have rather seen Wade Miley signed for sure. no clue what they see in Perez.

    It's called winning. Winning brings the fans back. Be a bunch of penny pinchers like we have makes it hard to win when we end up with 3rd or 4th rate talent. I'm sure if you go back and look at the Indians attendance over the last few years you would have seen how much winning helped their attendance.

    But we would not budge on are hard stance of only offering 1 year deals so that would leave us out of the running.

    The Twins are set to offer Machado a 1 year deal. Of course this is fake news all across the board that there are 2 mystery teams with the highest bids. The one true fact is the Twins probably did offer him a 1 year deal because we would not want anyone signed to a long term deal under this ownership.

    There's nothing stopping him from coming out after he is not selected in the 1st round to say "don't waste your pick on me."

    If he doesn't get drafted in the 1st round it may get real bad for him in a hurry. An NFL team will not waste a 2-3 round pick for a guy that most likely will be running all the way to Oakland. If he is not a 1st round pick I would be shocked if he just didn't completely pull out of the draft completely. The guaranteed money is pretty gone after the 1st round.

    Hopefully the A's don't cave in and meet the demands Boras has laid out. The smart move would be to tell Murray to do what makes him happy and don't force him to choose. If he has a poor NFL Combine and he falls into the 2-4 rounds he will run back to the A's and not look back.

    I will be the 1st to admit I was wrong when I predicted he would not make over like $5M. His agent got him a great deal. Hate to be lazy but not sure who his agent is, maybe this is one of those deals you do with an agent because you are trying to land a better client the agent represents.

    I would like to see them sign someone like Cody Allen to a 2-3 year deal and if he pitches well and the Twins fall out of contention they could flip him for some nice prospects.

    Never thought about that. It could make sense. But they have no reason to sell it when they can still put out an average team and rake in $100M a year for something that inherited.

    This would give them a target to aim to try to spend as little as they can possible and still stay above the floor. I know it would never happen with any teams that get their stadium paid for by taxpayers. What should happen is that the state should get all the parking fee's and a very small percentage of the concessions. No reason these states get held hostage and the only return they get on the investment is that the team doesn't relocate.

    I hope people aren't thinking that he will become "Josh Hader like" if we move him to the pen.

    Not sure why they don't extend a couple of years on some of the better RP's on the market. If we fall out of contention and they are pitching good they will have great trade value at the trade deadline. All we need is to hope we can use the bullpen a little better this year and not run arms into the ground like they did with Reed last season.

    Trade him to Baltimore or Seattle. Let him go to a team that doesn't want to win many games so he can get a full season of AB's. Then if he is doing what most think he is capable of doing he will be rewarded and traded to a contending team. Sad part is that Austin has such great potential and will most likely not be given the AB's he needs to do it in MN. To be honest, the best place for Austin would be to go play in Korea or Japan. Eric Thames got another chance in MLB after a few outstanding years in Korea.

    You can't throw in a bunch of junk and expect to get a quality arm back. Only way that happens if you take on a bad contract.

    All we want to know is will he be a clubhouse leader that this team needs & will he please take Sano under his wing and get back on the right path.
