  1. I'd hoped that Martin would OPS around 725 or so in this audition, and play better D and steal a base or ten.....so far, not so much (TINY sample size alert).
  2. You know we agree they had to do this stuff, but I don't love the execution all that much. We'll see....
  3. If Gasper is never going to catch, how the bleep is he on this roster at this point?
  4. Wallner with his OPS over 800, and his wrc+ over 120.....are people still saying he sucks? Like, really?
  5. how so? The season is OVER. He should be catching, and they should be auditioning others for next year.
  6. If that's the window, dealing for 25, 26, and 28 year olds made zero sense. IMO, of course.
  7. Reminds of the time I told one of the kids I "coach" that I was the double cross king, and he said "coach, that's not something to be proud of."
  8. They keep starting Jeffers at DH....evidence they aren't tanking, they haven't picked a lane, and they aren't auditioning guys for next year. Or, they are just bad at that too.....
  9. My fear is that he's mediocre, they keep him for next year because "upside", and he's bad (as he's been here for more than a year, and in Boston now also). At some point, upside is just something never reached (to be clear, I was believer in giving him a chance this year.......but now I'm ready to move on. At some point, you move on in life). I'm at that point. YMMV, of course.
  10. Not to mention the timing........which is truly astounding.
  11. I'd be unhappy.....very unhappy. They can't fix him, we know that.
  12. So, if this FO is in charge, he'll be in MN in 27 or 28..... (ya, I'm done with them and exaggerating).
  13. I truly don't understand the plan here at all. There is zero reason for Jeffers to DH at this point. Seriously. This season is over. They've punted it. Act that way fgs.
  14. Outman is awful, and the only reason he won't be DFA at year end is embarrassment.
  15. Much like we were told we should figure out what the Mets do to keep their pitchers healthy......
  16. I'd move Horn to the bullpen right now, put him in high A, and hope to have him up middle of next year. I think Ohl and Lewis and Morris will move to the BP, if there are no trades. I'd likely move Raya if there are no trades. Adams is nearly a lock, IMO.
  17. I'd prefer Julien DH over Jeffers. We know what we have in Jeffers.....(I'm not overly confident in Julien, but he needs to bat against every RHP, at DH).
  18. I was told his success proved the twins were literally stupid ....
  19. Outman is only competition for..... No one. Worst trade ever, that doesn't include hindsight.
  20. My basis is tiny. So small you'd be shocked. I mean, I have an MBA in finance, so I know what's happening to some degree (the market isn't nearly so efficient as we were taught).....
  21. Well, only 1 player they traded for is getting a shot, and few of the guys from the minors they brought up are young/rookies at all. We can like the idea of starting over(ish) and realizing the core wasn't good enough, and not like the execution of the trades.....I really think people are conflating the two things.....the outman trade was unforgivable, imo.
  22. Agreed on all counts, though I'm not sold on Lee (man, really shocked at how bad he's been at hitting so far).
