  1. They've signed all but two. Also, winokur should be off SS at this point. He's never going to play there in the majors. Not with Culpeper and Houston in the system. Put him in the OF or first, wherever he'll really play.
  2. I thought you were suggest prospect for prospect....
  3. They need offense more than anything else, and RP. Another starter.... As everyone does. I can't see GG for another minor league player if that was your question. Those trades are super rare.
  4. They'd rather have Larnach I'd guess, as they are trying to win now and need a corner OF now.
  5. Someone missed your humor by a mile, or more.
  6. I think he's partially struggling with playing more at 2B than the left side of the infield at this point. But that could be wrong.....
  7. France starting against a RHP? SIgh. I just don't get it.
  8. I'd say outcome wise, yes, though I still think Festa has better stuff. But SWR is a number 4 / 5 pitcher and those have value.
  9. Anyone giving up on a top 100 prospect after a year of ML playing is lacking in patience, and it is good they aren't a GM. To be clear, I'm not saying he's good or bad (he's not good), I'm stating that the lack of patience on this site is staggering.
  10. And they'll likely lose them for nothing, or keep them in AAA clogging the 40 man while refusing to either trade them or play them.......that's an issue for sure.
  11. One guy debuting.....and people wonder why I say they need to be more aggressive in the minors, to get guys close, so we don't have to read "they aren't even in AA or AAA yet." I agree with the OP, balancing the 26 and 40 man is not easy. That said, this team has killed itself by refusing to move on from bad veterans and clogging the 40 man, and not debuting guys to get them experience.
  12. Jeffers wife is about to have a baby. They'll pull someone up (Gasper?) and need a catcher in AAA. I think that's all this is. But one can hope....
  13. It's not what they love. Look at the high picks lately. But some guys have that profile, in every org. I do agree they used to draft too many guys w/o defense....for sure.
  14. Ya, dealing one RP means they can't compete..... Jay Jaffe of Fangraphs things they should deal Duran....
  15. I'm a much bigger believer than many here. He was a consensus top 100 guy when they got him, then he got hurt. He's going to be in the majors for 3-5 years at least. Will he be great? Probably not, given his glove. But he could be a 2 war player, and those don't grow on trees (at least not in MN). Heck, I'd put him in MN right now and see what he is and get his feet wet. But even I don't think that's realistic.
  16. I mean, all the explanations of these are on Fangraphs.....but ya, they are close to replacement at other spots. They also have the worst defense, by far, of any "contender."
  17. I gave this a sad emoji, not because you are wrong, but because you are right, IMO.
  18. Every team passed on him twice, so it wasn't people here..... It was actual GMs.
  19. Four guys really came to hit. The other five? Ugh. How do you score two runs with that many base runners?
  20. Sure. Lord of guys need to go, but France is an expiring deal, and is not good at all. And that was aimed at Kiersey. I have more patience for guys that might be part of the future. France isn't. Nor is Kiersey. They aren't replacing Jeffers, Lewis, CC, Buxton, Larnach. Or Castro. Or Bader. And can't replace Vazquez, alas. Or Clemens for now. That leaves Wallner, Lee, and France and Kiersey.
  21. Still better than France. And mostly than Lewis. The impatience with young players doesn't help them. That said, Lee has been a huge disappointment to me.
  22. He's better than Kiersey? And I'm not going to look at minor league numbers, we know what he is for the most part.
