  1. I don't think they are eager to see the young players at all. If they were, we'd see them. They clearly are not following either the 87 or 91 path to success, that's true.
  2. You do realize WAR is a cumulative stat, and Pelfrey has been in the majors about twice as long, right?
  3. I'd like this 10000000x if I could. Gotta get those pitches out of the arm before it breaks, especially RP guys. Not to mention that research shows they start losing speed on their pitches earlier than thought......
  4. I think it is Milone or Pelfrey, just like the bullpen is veterans probably. I'm not going to judge that decision right now, even though I disagree with it. Maybe it will work, but I'm not betting my house on it.
  5. This isn't football or hockey with injury concerns. If he has the passion, and is playing well, he should keep playing. That said, he should be willing to consider being a DH......
  6. At least that aren't giving false hope to fans that these guys might be up soon.
  7. Assuming it wasn't blocked at my work....
  8. I remember when people mocked me for saying Kepler would be the Twins' 1B around 2017 or so.....still hoping he succeeds!
  9. The draft, as it stands, is bad for everyone, frankly. If you had a hybrid draft/FA, where certain teams could make certain sized offers, and others could make smaller ones, or where the worst 10 teams were able to sign 3 players for x money, and everyone else could only sign one for that much.....that would be better for everyone.
  10. Of, they could stop sitting on piles of money and blow through their slot and sign a bunch of highly ranked prospects. That would be a real change. Spending in their slot? Not much of a change.
  11. Ugh. Baserunning gaffes, running into the wall.....maybe he has a "baseball IQ" issue.
  12. About time they start worrying about nutrition......but it does no good if they go back to awful food starting in April. Are they working on that at all?
  13. Cool story. Thanks for doing the interview, both of you.
  14. Well, this post shouldn't surprise anyone...... they aren't making the playoffs this year. They have tons of RP types in AAA/AA. I hate the Deunsing re-sign. I hate any RP signing that isn't about getting the youngsters here, and seeing what they have. I really don't get it at all. I'd rather see May or Meyer, for the same reason as above.......the only way to see what you have is to, you know, see what you have. But, I agree with Seth, it will be Milone or Pelfrey (that 2 year deal remaind mind boggling). One or both of those guys will come up for a few starts or stay up, but I'd rather they just start the year here. As for the INF? I'm not sure I care all that much. Not sure what t`e options really are. As for CF? I'd rather Hicks be in AAA, playing every day, until he proves he can hit a baseball to some degree.
  15. Funny, I thought this would be about AA vs AAA....... I think he's a 3B until he proves he's not. Plouffe will either be traded, or moved to the OF. But, I've been wrong before.
  16. I don't listen to interviews, so that does nothing for me. I'm glad it helps others though.
  17. This part. 100% this part. It is about talent.
  18. Mike saying "no way Santana is that good this year"......
  19. I don't think Hicks will maintain that OBP, but if he does, I agree, put him at 9 or 1.
  20. In retrospect, I somehow forgot Plouffe. Plouffe should probably be 6th or 5th or maybe 4th.
