  1. All 4 of us hated it. I would rather watch Nishioka play SS again than see that play again. Act 1 wasn't bad. It has great promise. But, it did not work for us, or the others we overhead after. Hope your experience is better.
  2. Off topic. .....the play Mr Burns at the Guthrie is awful. Do not go.
  3. Ya, in my haste to reply to the person above me, I forgot to compliment the OP. Nicely done.
  4. I predict a Twins' win.....4-2. Actual RBI and everything.
  5. I think I agree with your premise.....if he was the OF we were promised, we could probably over look his offense more......but the last two years he's been neither an acceptable hitter or fielder.
  6. ND-Fan......The peak age for good to elite players is younger than you think..........
  7. I agree with bw.....Smith gets too much blame. If a team is the result of the 4-5 years of drafts before that year....well, those teams were bad because the minors did not product players, frankly. All the pundits that used to work in FO say this: GMs should barely be judged on drafts, since the scouting director leads those. The GM's role is to hire the scouting director, though. Also, to set up the minor league systems....so the GM has to get some credit/blame for development. GMs make the trade decisions. Even if they get advice from others, they are accountable for those, and should be judged on those. Same with FA decisions. Unfortunately for BS, the trades mostly stunk...... Judging him on the outcomes of the roster at the time? Unfair. Judging him on the outcomes of the trades? Fair.
  8. Android app seemed to be working well.....it's so bad, I actually paid attention to a minor league game, during the game....
  9. I just want him to succeed, in some way, that the MLB level....even though I supposedly don't root for individuals anymore.....
  10. I agree with the philosophy, but it seems sometimes they keep trying to make a guy a starter, when it is clear he isn't one........and won't ever be one. But then, maybe they won't ever be a RP at the MLB level either.
  11. I think, maybe, you are assuming some things here....I'm very dude like about the Twins. If the lose, whatever.....I'm HERE to have conversations about the Twins, mostly because I sit on lots of really boring conference calls that don't always need my immediate attention (and I tend to work a bit longer some days, so I get my work done). I think some people think that "negative" people are actually angry about this stuff.....I'm not. I can't speak for others, but I'm not. But, I am here to have conversations that are interesting. Saying "everything is awesome" doesn't really interest me. I understand not everyone agrees with that stance.
  12. Huh, for some reason, I expected more top prospects at this level (off the top of my head). Only having 4 or 5 seems low for this level, given that many get weeded out as they move off. OTOH, maybe that's because AA is loaded! Will be really interested in some of the pitchers here.....along with Vielma and Garver.
  13. I'm not sure I understand the move, but IIRC, he did seem to develop more pitches.....
  14. I really waffled on this signing.....on top of the Nolasco deal. IT seems that they should be able to void this deal, but apparently, not.
  15. I too would keep Kepler in the OF and some 1B right now. I can see how you think what you do, though. And, your arguments have merit, I just have this feeling....that's all it is.
  16. I still see Kepler as your 1B/DH of the future.....assuming he's ever healthy and channels his power better. That's a great bullpen, can't wait to see them up here in 3-15 months. I'm impressed at the speed they are moving the bullpen (and Turner). Overall, this team could get Twins' fans excited again, in 3-15 months.
  17. I think all drugs should be not banned........someday we'll take something like HGH to live healthier longer, and people will just laugh that we used to ban stuff that actually helps athletes recover and be healthy (or even get an edge).
  18. Ah, thanks, I thought it was about another 10 days, not 4...... My belief still stands, no major changes for 6 weeks.
  19. I don't expect those changes until week 6, at the earliest. The minor league teams start later, I believe....and they'll want those players to get some time. This is the roster, barring injury, until mid-May.
  20. I think they could possibly be better than last year, but I am not so sure right now. The Braves just dealt their closer for legit prospects, the Twins are re-signing bad veterans and not trading any veterans.......so, to me, it just looks like last year and the year before. I just don't see a lot of evidence the FO is trying to figure out which youngster is good or not. I hope to be proven wrong soon.
  21. What evidence is there that this is a season of experimentation and learning, given the VETERAN laden roster?
  22. I hope the FO brings up young guys sooner rather than later.
  23. teams dont cut guys 2 weeks in. This is the rotation for 6 weeks, at least.
  24. Pelfrey? Really? How is that the choice? So exciting.
