  1. Not handy......at work....and actually paying attn on this call
  2. I very much want to be wrong......very much. It's great to see those laser shots.
  3. cool. commenting on me, and not the thought. All the experty types on line don't think he's a long term hitter. We discussed this last year when he came up. didn't feel like retyping all of it. I'm very glass half full on things that I think deserve it. I don't have high expectations means just that, based on what I've read from experts NOT part of the Twins' organization, they have low expectations.
  4. There are no guarantees. I don't agree that the "only way to build his value" is at the ML level. He needs to learn how to hit, he is working on that in AAA. That, to me, makes sense for where he is right now. For him, not every player, for him where he is right now. "we" know a lot about Hicks from the last two years. What we know is that he really needs to work on hitting. For him, imo, that's best done in AAA right now. If he keeps this up for another 2 weeks or so, I would promote him, and then see what he has. So, we are arguing over 2 weeks or so..... And, in no way would I have had him up at the beginning of the year. He wasn't ready. Sometimes guys need to learn in the minors, sometimes in the majors. He had 2 shots already at the MLB level, this time it was time to do it in AAA.
  5. ???? hicks is learning how to hit, and become a real MLB player. Schafer is in MN to play CF until Hicks or someone else is ready. This is about tomorrow, not today.
  6. I have low expectations, but I think it is certainly possible he can be good.
  7. That would be a dream. More likely is a SP, plus a decent prospect from the Twins, to get Van Slyke.
  8. Pacific NW. Portland or Seattle are the leading contenders.
  9. May going down would not encourage me to continue caring about this team when I move this fall.....
  10. If it was so easy to find 2-3 WAR players, the Twins wouldn't keep losing 90 games every season, having zero OF, and signing OLD bad RP to deals......getting rid of guys like Plouffe is not a winning strategy* *assuming he's this good
  11. Making decisions on tenure, not production? Awful idea.
  12. Serious question: If Pinto is as bad at catcher as I'm told, does it hurt Meyer to have him catching?
  13. Ah, then send him down seems like the right thing......
  14. Please don't demote possible parts of the future......why would a team do that?
  15. Trade them for what? And, I don't agree. One of them should be in the bullpen for emergency starts/depth. Since Alex Meyer is showing he's not all that good ...... they need the depth.
  16. Put Nolasco or Milone in the bullpen. This isn't really that hard a choice right now. this is the problem, imo, of having lots of pitchers w/o options, on a team that is not a contender.....
  17. Granite is too old for the level, time to move him up and test him. Meyer. sigh.
  18. Well, this is unexpected. Admittedly, it is only a couple of starts, but still........ I'd put Nolasco in the bullpen now, or Milone, but Pelfrey should stay in the rotation until he proves this isn't a fluke (or, the whole year being a success, which would be awesome).
  19. Ya, don't get me wrong, you can only play the teams you are assigned to play, and the pitchers have been great. My question was about how excited I should be about their future....not at what they have accomplished.
  20. How is the offense in this league overall? Are the Twins' pitchers way ahead, or a little ahead, of the pack?
