    He's only 17. A lot of HS seniors will turn 19 this calendar year, if they aren't already. Is he physically better than other around him? Of course, that's why he might go 1:1. Is he more physically mature? Probably not significantly, compared to where he will be in 3-4 years.

    How is it being a "dick" to get your client the best deal possible? No way I pass on the best player over a few hundred K. No way. They should take the best player on their board.

    I think I'm on Green also. Just too much upside to pass on. If they think McKay is a two, and could hit like Mark Grace, I'd not kill them for that. If they think he's a three, I won't be happy. Not that we'll ever know.

    Fair on Sano. But Grossman and Santana played a lot when Rosario and Kepler weren't here, or when they were trying Sano (an experiment I somehow forgot). But, if I'm not mistaken, this was pretty much the OF once Buxton was promoted, and that was always the plan. I just don't see some great sea change here that you do.

    What are you expecting? Do you think people should change what they thought the Twins were after 6 games?

    To me, Kepler should be playing nearly every day. He's way too young to be in a platoon on a mediocre team.

    Hmmm, I'm not really sure what has changed about "committing" to OF defense. This is almost the same lineup they tried last year, the difference is Buxton is up. I think the meme is off here some, but whatever. As long as Buxton is in the majors, I don't think this is about "committing to defense", so much as playing the OF they expect to have, offense, defense, whatever. This was always the plan. It's been a great first week. I've always backed ESan's ability to pitch, and he's been very nice so far. Sano can hit, I don't doubt that either. Polanco can hit, I don't doubt that. Castro is a guy I was hoping they'd trade for 2-3 years ago, definitely liked that signing. Very nice start. It's more fun to win for sure.

    maybe we should have a music thread..... but I'm big on guitars, so Arctic Monkeys and Black Keys are up there recently. We just saw Mike Doughty in Portland, stood about 10 feet away the whole show, in a tiny place, was great. one of my favorite poets as singers.

    We have similar tastes, though I like modern a bit more usually. I'd probably spend more on it, which is true of most things, actually. We both really like live music, if you include that in the definition....

    Currently searching for pizza places in Portland, as my wife just texted that beer and pizza seemed like good ideas. If I didn't know better, I'd swear that the most awesome person I've ever met is on this thread....

    really? Cool. I'll have to check it out next time I am there. to me, nearly every time I am there, there are almost no people there. It isn't a destination. It isn't interactive. Even art that has been there 15+ years, that is big enough to climb on, discourages kids from doing so. There are vast open spaces, that are roped off at time (always?). It's always been less than it could be, imo. Like Buxton so far, all the hype, none of the results, but always hope it can be better.
