    I'd 100% rather the 25 man was better, than worry about AAA depth. If he's better than Garver or Castro or the last bench name, I'd 100% rather he was in MN. I must not have been clear when I said roster.

    None are Kiriloff, Lewis, Larnarch gop 10-50 types, not even close. It is rare to get great prospects in trades right now. There just aren't that many trades occurring, as teams horde prospects (this isn't just a random opinion, there have been articles written about it).

    It was boring to watch, from the ads to the game, to the half time show. It was all so boring. McVay was outcoached (no shame there, most have been by BB).....but some of it was so obvious. Punting on 4th and short inside the 50. Twice (three times?) passing on 3rd and short around mid field, when you have Gurley and Anderson on the roster....neither time playing for 4 downs. Those are the three easy things I think he got wrong (the rest? harder to judge, but no fan of their plan). This just shows how great KC's offense and coaching is (too bad you can't put Zimmer and them together with Mahomes).

    I've never understood why being a front running fan is bad. It actually makes a lot more sense to me.

    Amen. It's why the Cruz signing is both good and bad, imo...... Kepler can play any OF position and 1B. Would I like it if he hit better? Sure.....but they need guys like that. Not guys that can only DH or play 1B, or only play D (Granite), or only whatever..... It's why Astudillo should be given a chance to be on the roster. I'm all on board the train you are trying to drive, but I don't know if the FO is.....

    I don't have access to that. Was that about the trades, or draft picks improving the farm. They have a super deep farm, which is great if you actually do something with it. They haven't traded for MLB players. And, until some graduate and help the team more than a replacement player, it's all projection, and not value. Which, again, great. But so far, not much help.

    I like the Odo trade, would like it more if they're get some top of the rotation guy (s) too. Not convinced on any others at all.

    I'll take that bet. The point is clear. This team has been bad at trading and signing free agents. Coincidentally, that's the only part this FO has control over, since no draft picks or international signings can reasonably be expected to be up yet. But someday they will play for the present. Or sign good free agents. Cruz should be good, but my expectations are pretty low for the rest.

    People think Granite is a good hitter? https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=15343&position=OF He put up a 67 wrc+ in his 40 games in MN in 2017. Cave put up a 108 in 108 games. It's not even close on offense.

    Recent studies show money is correlated with sustained success. Any team can pop up or down in any year, but few can sustain winning without spending.

    The FO and manager chose not to have Astudillo catch. Still boggles the mind. Painfully. I am guessing he starts in AAA, despite good ability. They have good depth, unfortunately it's the top of the pitching staff that is lacking

    I think it will be Cave or Austin. But it should be Cave. If it is Austin, someone should ask why he didn't play OF last fall.... Not that this press corps will.

    I can't figure out how Granite is on the forty man. If it's him, and not Cave or Reed, I will increase my belief this FO is bad at their jobs.

    Not one time in history it was appropriate to trade prospects for MLB players? Or did I not read that right?

    Clearly front offices disagree. It's almost impossible to get good prospects in trade right now. If anything, as a group, they are currently over valued, and smart teams should be trading therm for proven players.

    Gordon was a top 75 or higher prospect on several lists. I don't think this is about fans......not even a little.

    And yet TX, who has no pitching, moved him to RP, and then let him go. I'm sure TX has plenty of data too. Hoping and wishcasting is fine, but let's not pretend that he's likely to become Arrieta. That's super rare.

    I have lost some confidence in Gordon, but to say this is a make or break year is off. He's 22. In AAA. Fangraphs has reasonable confidence in Jeffers staying a catcher. I too hope they are aggressive with both catchers.

    They have a plethora of guys in AAA and AA who need a look, because they have one guy under contract past this year. Perez means they will gather less information, all for the upside of a good number five.
