  1. Wins? Really? Wins are a team stat. I mean, would you rather add a player that gave up 5 runs a game, but played with the best offense, or a player that gave up 2 runs a game and played with the Mets..... Darvish got hurt. If Perez now gets hurt, will it be a bad signing because he doesn't get wins?
  2. Of course, we get three angles of replays, so it seems like there is action...... But, sit at a game? Awful for pace of play......
  3. I'd rather teams had a pool of money to spend, and they can bid using that pool. Drafts are inherently bad for player income.
  4. I'm sure tv would keep paying the same... This just isn't realistic at all.
  5. How did not signing FA RPs work out, using guys that produced negative WAR instead? I mean, if the argument that signing them doesn't work, how has not signing them worked out? Maybe the answer is to just be smarter and better (really, the only way a mid market team can win, since they don't have unlimited resources). As for Darvish, supposedly they bid the second most, so the FO must have wanted him. Since you like to exaggerate others' posts to make a point....are you suggesting never to sign a FA? Even though we see from successful teams that they have WAR from FAs of some kind (or trades)? No team is built solely from within, at least not winning teams.
  6. Hard to say for sure, other than every site has them as a top 4-10 system........ Also, since they pretty much never make trades (I know, new FO.....)....it seems more likely they just don't like to make trades to acquire MLB talent all that often. It seems fairly statistically impossible that they could almost never have the opportunity....
  7. The pace of play is the main issue. Time between action. Fix that, and the length will also drop..... What if a RP just didn't have it? Leanne him in for another batter or two? That just makes no sense to me at all. It's like making zone defense illegal. Or the shift illegal. In game action isn't the issue here....
  8. I'd be pretty happy if he's a number four starter. Or a great RP.
  9. Lots of great comments here, and I like that no one is being less than gracious to those they disagree with. The adjusting the gloves thing has to stop.
  10. Universal DH yes Three batter minimum? Ridiculous Pitch clock? No brainer
  11. I must have read your post wrong, it seemed like you don't care much about that spot one way or the other. It's a precious commodity. there are only 25
  12. Why does he have to hit that well to play? How about tenth best catcher, or even twentieth?
  13. Of course they need more stars, but that's no reason to punt the 25th spot.
  14. He hit better than the average catcher two years ago. What do people want him to do?
  15. Wait? They can only sign one year deals? And, I'm pretty sure this post isn't only about this year, or only about pitchers.
  16. I don't. Any more than every free agent was.
  17. ah right, I forgot he wasn't at BA. Thanks!
  18. How many minor league prospects aren't question marks? Every player acquired in a trade was "given up on" by their former team (in return for players, or cash, or just roster space). Who is more likely to be good, a player that has already shown to be good in the majors, or a prospect who has never played in the majors? And who thinks there are no question marks, or that it is a free gift? Anyone?
  19. I'd 100% rather the 25 man was better, than worry about AAA depth. If he's better than Garver or Castro or the last bench name, I'd 100% rather he was in MN. I must not have been clear when I said roster.
  20. None are Kiriloff, Lewis, Larnarch gop 10-50 types, not even close. It is rare to get great prospects in trades right now. There just aren't that many trades occurring, as teams horde prospects (this isn't just a random opinion, there have been articles written about it).
  21. It was boring to watch, from the ads to the game, to the half time show. It was all so boring. McVay was outcoached (no shame there, most have been by BB).....but some of it was so obvious. Punting on 4th and short inside the 50. Twice (three times?) passing on 3rd and short around mid field, when you have Gurley and Anderson on the roster....neither time playing for 4 downs. Those are the three easy things I think he got wrong (the rest? harder to judge, but no fan of their plan). This just shows how great KC's offense and coaching is (too bad you can't put Zimmer and them together with Mahomes).
