  1. He said there were five guys available as free agents as good as this guy. Hence my question, which free agent SS that they would sign is that good?
  2. Really? Who? I'm genuinely curious which free agents you think put up 2 war next year.
  3. There's a difference between ok contender, and serious contenders. No one can look at this pitching and think they are serious contenders. no idea why this is in italics.
  4. They aren't serious contenders this year. I'm not sure what you expect at this point, realistically.
  5. He was better last year than I thought. If he does put up two WAR at SS this year, it isn't a bad trade. I don't love it, as I really don't want Rortdvert in the majors, but I guess we'll see
  6. Maybe stop taking bat first corner players in the early rounds? Or, trade some of those?
  7. And there were people here arguing that Twins shouldn't make a change in GM.....those drafts are awful, and many were criticized at the time, not just in hindsight. That level of futility defies odds for picks that high (that many of them). Whatever we said on the board is not relevant, we aren't paid GMs with reams of data and employees helping us.....
  8. Your lack of empathy for the people that actually do the work makes me sad.
  9. Yikes. I guess we'll just 100% disagree on that one.
  10. Good points! Manfred saying revenue has been tough the last five years......in 2019, revenues went up for the 17th straight year.....and, lest we forget, they didn't pay the players full salaries in 2020.....and revenues are rising much faster than player pay.
  11. the owners have locked out the players. Let no one call this a strike, please. They could be playing ball, if the owners wanted to.
  12. 100% yes. Odds are that a player doesn't even make the majors, let alone be REALLY good for a year or two and a legit MLB most other years. Yes. Did he meet our hopes? No, not yet. But I still think he can.
  13. Let's just say it's been ugly! But I bought a ton of Nvidia last week.....I made a play on a penny stock that, well, it's bad. But, oh, well.
  14. The logical ranking for him. I think he'll be the starting LF for years, but I can see trying him at SS more....
  15. There's virtually no good pitching in the AFL. Lewis hatd done very little at the plate at a high level. He's got great athleticism, but anyone that is sure he'll hit is basing that off hope more than data. I think he hadt a shot to be great, but I can't ignore the downside risk when thinking about his future.
  16. So you'd rather have a worse shortstop, and have the pohlads pocket the money? Because they aren't spending it on pitching. They've prevent that. What other position is so barren they need to spend?
  17. If the pitchers aren't legit good starters, that's bad? Like, being a number 2-3 is bad? I don't think we see things the same way at all. I'd be THRILLED if the Twins have 2 number 3s. Thrilled.
  18. Who is still a good player.....and legit starting 3B. Fans should be happy if Miranda is a legit good starter.
  19. You just compared him to Donaldson, and said ranking him 3rd best prospect is high..... If he's an average defender with that bat, he's a 2.5-3.5 WAR players. That would be great.
  20. There is no reason for him to be in AA next year. None.
