    Yes, Discovery as in ST......some feel it isn't optimistic enough to be ST, and other quibbles. I've always wanted a Klingon based Trek, and the first year + features a ton of that.....

    Moon Knight is great so far We are in season two of Discovery, which I really like a lot. We are about eight episodes into The Good Place, and I'm shocked at how much I love it. And yes, I know it changes a lot over time.... But I know nothing, so no spoilers please.

    I posted plenty of stats yesterday. Top ten in win probability added, for example. None of them were about war, btw. I even quoted you so you'd see them. We've made our points, we don't agree. I'm ok with that.

    The bullpen was above average last year after getting rid of he who shall not be named.... Maybe even top ten. And that's with Rogers missing the last two months.

    Dan Szymborski 4:02 It's weird timing, but I like the Twins side David Laurila 4:03 Twins made a good deal. Padres made a better deal. David Laurila 4:05 Taylor Rodgers is good, and Brent Rooker is going to hit. That said, deal made sense for both teams.

    Those are two different statements.......you first said it was a weak bullpen. Now it is average.... Nothing about this roster, imo, screamed championship. I hope to be wrong.

    It wasn't an already weak bullpen. After June of last year, it was a top 10-12 bullpen, and that was without Rogers the last two months.

    The more I think about it.... They likely tried to do this trade last year, or similar, but Rogers got hurt. There was no way they were signing him if he was good this year, they just don't sign pitchers to expensive deals here. They dealt a very good RP with one year of control, and a corner bat that was stretched to play in the field. They got a former top prospect, who is only months older than Winder and others....and a flyer (imo) RP in return. They (I think) get a PTBNL also? Paddack is the number 4 starter on this roster (who might be the second best pitcher, or might fall off), with Archer / Bundy / Ober / Winder piggy backing, I'd guess. It is possible that Winder goes down, and Ober or / Bundy is viewed as a regular starter, but that's not what I'd do.

    BTW, Paddack is like 6 months older than Winder.....I hope we can stop talking about taking innings away from young players at the expense of old players....

    After they got rid of their awful closer? I didn't watch enough other teams to say if they were about median or not......but I'm guessing everyone's brain is thinking about the whole year, not after they got rid of the man who they should not have signed. Much like Happ and Shoemaker leaving making the team better.... This team was around .500 after the disastrous start to the year, and people are really struggling to remember that given how badly the year went overall.

    By several of the systems that use data, which I know you don't care about....and, as I've pointed out, they were top 10 after July 4 of last year. Did Rogers pitch in August or September?

    They were projected as a top 10 bullpen going into the year.....that's thin?

    If the Twins get a number 3 pitcher for 1 year of Rogers, that's a HUGE win for the Twins. Also, an ERA in the 3s is more like a number 2 these days.

    I'm not sure how I feel about the deal.... The Twins were not going to sign Rogers at the end of the year, most likely. Not unless he took a massive discount (why would he?). I never liked the Rooker draft, and don't think he can play D (I'd be ok with him at DH on a team that didn't have Sano). So, 1 year of Rogers and a guy that might or might not be a good hitter who can't play D (imo) given up. Paddack is intriguing. He had issues last year with his fastball. If those get fixed, and the other pitches stay the same, things will be very good with him. He's not some old reclamation project, as some here think. He's as young (give or take a year) as some of the Twins' prospects....I don't know boo about the RP, other than what I've read in the thread. The posts here blaming Rocco, or saying the FO doesn't have a plan.....I think you are wrong. They just have a different plan than you, or than you thought.....Also, when an opportunity arises, and you like it, you take it. That's much better than having some strict plan. I think I'm ok with this trade. Not a huge fan, not a hater. I don't think this team is a WS team with or without Rogers, so losing 1 year of a him probably is worth the gamble on Paddack.
