  1. To be clear..... We are not giving them credit for producing hitters and pitchers, only ripping the pipeline of pitchers, and also not giving them credit for trading for Ryan? They have four guys they acquired that are likely legit MLB starters. They have a great RP and at least one more good one. They also have Arraez and Miranda . And Lewis and Lee. We can still hope on larnach being healthy. And Jeffers. And fixing Gordon who everyone gave up on. I don't love all their moves. But the idea that they've produced no starters is just not true.
  2. The argument seems to be they can't get any pitchers. They got two thru trades. It sucks why they were in a position to make those trades, but they seem likely to be two very good trades. These comments are about ripping the front office for not having enough pitching. They have at least two, if not four, number three types. The previous FO couldn't touch that. Also, let's be real, they had nothing to work with in the minors when they took over. At least as far as starting pitchers.
  3. Almost none of those guys were drafted by this FO. None were considered top prospects outside twins land. How is that on this FO? I guess I don't understand how trading for a guy isn't part of the pipeline? Somehow that's not good?
  4. If they trade a guy, or guys, with four or more years of control for a guy with two, I don't see how this is sustainable.. This signing only makes good sense if Kepler is dealt, at least for me. I guess it's possible they think both larnach and AK are too hurt to start the year, otherwise they are blocking at least one of them if Kepler is still here.
  5. Ryan, Ober, Varland not enough for you in a two year period? Add SWR at some point this year. How many are you expecting?
  6. You might have to search pretty hard to find that pitcher being available. Like, really, really, really hard.
  7. That's a pretty great outcome so far. If even one of AK or Larnach can stay healthy......I think there are at least three good RPs that haven't emerged yet either.
  8. Martinez is a DH only. I'm not sure I get the angst over this.
  9. Sure. He might be. He also might be the guy that hasn't played center for some reason..... Which is very different than a guy moving to first base. I agree, his defense is one reason he's in Minnesota. I don't understand how pointing out he hasn't played center is so bad..
  10. You're comparing a second year player transitioning to the least difficult position, to a long time veteran playing center?
  11. You keep arguing against the opposite of what I say. Over and over. You keep posting they should sign great players, then when I say that, you argue. I really don't get it.
  12. No. I want them to sign one elite player, not three bad ones. I want them to supplement the team with a great player, not put bad filler on the roster. Or, take a chance on a Bassitt type, because I'd rather take a chance on Bassitt and a rookie, over Haap and Shoemaker type.
  13. Then I don't get the AK question.
  14. They weren't desperate. They paid Turner, seager, money. That's the market.
  15. One elite player and two rookies, or three bad to risky players. Which is more likely to be helpful year after year?
  16. Sure. He could be great. For one year. Then what? Because all their young OF are now in the minors....
  17. How has signing bad players worked? Like Happ, Shoemaker, et. al.? That doesn't work either.
  18. Are you suggesting Gallo will play first?
  19. Who has a top end pitcher they don't want, but wants two older players?
  20. Actually, no. Nearly every one of them was better. Gordon was much better. Had Wallner been up all year, he'd have been twice as good.
