  1. Lots of people saying take a hitter... Are these the same people complaining about the pipeline? Or trading for pitchers!
  2. Nothing. They didn't sign him or keep Turner...
  3. Oh, sure, I wasn't suggested a 1:1 deal....just what I'd target in a deal.
  4. If his wrist is healed, he's probably a 2 - 2.5 WAR player. Not great, but above average. If his wrist isn't the only issue with his hitting last year, they'll need a new option.
  5. Because he's bad, and they let like 15 guys go to save money this off season, passing on all the great SS that only cost money. That said, I think this is a reload year for them for some reason, and they'll spend HUGE next year (ohtani and ?).
  6. He was actually good last year, even though he was used wrong. Frankly, given you want him rushing the QB every play, I don't get the 3-4 alignment, but I'm no technician.....I bet they keep both him and Zadarius. If 2 of the 3 injured DBs from last year's draft are even decent next year, the D looks very different with competent ILBs are using Hunter correctly. Very different.
  7. Gordon isn't a SS, but Farmer going there did immediately pop into my head. Dodgers have TWO catchers in the top 100 prospect list on Fangraphs, btw...... I don't see the Twins doing this, but I'd certainly consider it given their SS "depth" right now.
  8. Apparently the GM didn't mention either current starting ILB when talking options..... And was pretty clear Cook was not staying at this price
  9. Agreed. The only way you can deal him is for a LATE pick.....and even then, I doubt it.
  10. Dalvin's agent posting things on Twitter that sure hint he expects not to be in MN anymore....
  11. Neither of these indicate the bullpen is a PRIORITY. They indicate they are going to take a flyer on two guys that might be good. If they aren't, they won't be on the roster. I'm not sure how this is hard to understand.
  12. Ya, I don't like this either. And, it isn't that they CAN'T stick at SS, it is there is only ONE SS on the field at a time. And, SS and CF are often the most athletic, so they can move around to a new position. This is just a really bad/odd way to think of elite athletes, as "positionless".
  13. My parents would be so proud. Great community here!
  14. 10 years ago is a completely different game. People didn't swing for the fences, and pitchers threw like 93......
  15. This. Both picks were second guessed immediately when made. I wish both of them well. I'm sure they are working hard to be the player they want to be. Both seem however, limited in that likelihood.
  16. The more I think about this, the more I'd approach the owners and tell them I want to blow up the team (outside three OL and JJ) and start over (if I was the GM and coach). I'd trade for as many picks in next year's draft as possible. They gave us a fun year this year.....I'd be ok with two bad years for the improved odds of long term success.
  17. I'd love that.....or, you know, Nola in there ( no chance). The rating services are definitely down on Prelipp for some reason.
  18. Lots of bad luck with injury with this latest batch. Even Martin had a wrist issue last year.
  19. I'm sure there will be a Cincinnati Red they should bring in instead
  20. Larnach, Wallner, and any other hitter can play first. For the OP, where is he playing in Minnesota? They are filled with infielders at this point, not even counting Gordon.....
  21. So you are good with Farmer or Solano at DH A LOT? I mean, who is YOUR DH given this roster? Gordon?
  22. Seriously, "analytics says starters only go 5 innings" is bunk. They had Bundy and Archer and injured players last year as starters. Move on already.
  23. Ya, that was very clear.... They don't really have much of a DH at this point, do they? Gordon? Farmer? Whichever big time player has the day off from the field? No Larnach or Wallner at this point, not without an injury.
