    Sano had several coaches.... Jeffers doesn't have may at bats and was hurt. Sanchez is a long term veteran. I have no idea how you draw any conclusions from those three.

    There is certainly room for improvement on offense. But being 31st in the league on defense should have serious consequences for that group of coaches and players. Either create the best offense ever and score forty per game, or fix the defense to near average, which probably isn't enough, but might be.

    Archer and Bundy were there two worst starters last year. Vazquez is a huge step up at catcher. They start the year with Duran at closer, not the dumpster fire like last year. This team is much better than the start of last year. And, given everyone is healthy, is much better than the end of last year. The odds they have to play their 6th, 7th, and 8th OFers all at the same time for a month this year are quite low.....

    If the price isn't too high, I like this upside play. I have doubts, but I also have hope. I wonder what it would take.

    If they aren't in position to win, it's always time to rebuild. It's hard to see how they fix the D, given their constraints.

    It's a tiny amount of money. You could add four of these together, and not afford Gallo. This guy was great when healthy, there is no real downside here.

    so, just assume every prospect isn't going to be good, and trade them all, unless they play SS, which the Twins don't need for 3-6 years?

    serviceable? he was the consensus top hitting college player that showed no issues in AA. He's a consensus top 50 or higher prospect on every list. He's an elite prospect.

    Agree on Arraez. He's my choice for top of a trade for SP.

    I doubt Miranda is "entrenched" at third...... 3b: Lee 2B: Julien or Martin (who I think is a super utility OF/IF) 1B: Kiriloff or Miranda Lewis to LF and center (no way Buck plays more than 100 games a year) I could see a trade from that depth now, but I hope not. Also, no way those numbers for Lewis are "unsustainable." There are guys who do hit like that (I am not predicting he will, btw).

    Bauer has been this for years, over and over, with no remorse. He is who he is.

    Bundy and Archer were their worst starters last year. They have Ober, Valand, Winder, SWR all ready to take their place. That doesn't count Mahle or Maeda as depth/starters at all. They are, without question, much deeper than last year at this time and it isn't close.

    It's almost like I put the word "if" in there on purpose.......I have no idea what kind of OF he can be. He's all of how old? How far out of college? I'm just saying, the people on this board giving up on a guy with this little professional experience would have cut Hunter....and Dozier....and others.

    While I generally agree, if he can play elite D and get on base and steal at will, he has a lot more value than Arraez (big ifs, there)....but he has enough speed to play LF or CF and be valuable.

    I don't think Miami wants Kepler, as he doesn't have a ton of control left. But I'm certainly open to the idea I'm wrong here

    He also had to pass a physical every year..... So not even the short term was guaranteed.
