They need to get more than about the 40th pick, give or take is worth....as he'll fetch that or so by signing after turning down a QO. That's likely one 45 or 45+ prospect. I think they can get two of those at the deadline, so unless they fix the hitting for this year, I agree.
I'm ok, not happy, with starting the season this way, but we now have data on the hitting and pitching.....at this point, it should be obvious that depth that includes bad starters isn't really depth....
Their WPA is a rounding error off (around -.7) ......so I'm not sure that narrative is correct. That said, I would also send Gallo out first, as he's not been even in sight of good for months now.
Also, no one is expecting anyone to lose money on purpose. No one that is rational anyway. But that straw man is powerful for some, I guess. (not you, clearly)
What FA pitcher other than Berrios would you even have wanted to keep (note: they extended the guy they traded Arraez for, so no idea what you are saying).
I think that was MLR, but I did some also, so maybe me? Either way, your point stands. Those other two teams aren't any better than the Twins at drafting and developing pitchers since this FO came on board.
I worry that schedule will deceive them into thinking they are right....but whatever. I'm expecting them to do virtually nothing and waste the best SP in baseball.
Some of the comments in this very thread say it's the roster..... And that this is what we should expect, other than CC. So I have no idea how it's all.
