  1. I mean, no one could be worse than Miranda has been this year, so either is worth a shot at third for me, while Miranda goes down and hopefully fixes things. Look, to all the naysayers on trying these things....the team has scored 2 or less runs in 40% of the games ( I read that on the site, so if that's totally wrong, then my argument is less sound, if it is 3 runs, my argument is still good, but not OBVIOUSLY good). That is 100% not a winning total, so possibly getting worse isn't an issue....because they aren't good enough now. There are three years of data on Gallo and Taylor and Kepler to tell us this is who they are......
  2. I think the idea, which I don't hate, is to put Goldy at first, and AK in the OF..... I mean, it's not what I'd do....I'd put Polanco at third, Wallner in RF and Larnach in LF. If Polanco can't play third, I'd put Severino there. I'd promote Severino to AAA last week.....I would consider calling up Carmago to play C and first, or Williams to play first and AK to the OF (over Larnach, who I'm losing faith in).
  3. Polanco at third for sure, over Julien. Julien has no chance at third, IMO. They 100% need CC and Buxton to hit, though.
  4. I get that.....you need 13 pitchers in the majors, and a like number at every level. Give me pitchers! But sure, you CAN find players anywhere. I merely expressed a preference, not some kind of criticism or anything more or less. Anyway, really liking this draft.
  5. None of whom are catchers, which is the post I was responding to....suggesting to not take a C in the upcoming picks, but to wait....
  6. What do you expect him to say? Realistically, so that other players will still want to come here, what do you expect an owner to say?
  7. I'm suggesting getting a catcher late, is less likely than pitcher, hence, keep taking pitchers. That list is pretty pitcher full.
  8. It's been a few days since we had a Buxton can play the field thread. As if the team wouldn't play him out there if they thought it was a good idea....
  9. some people expect new players to be studs immediately, or judge them as busts. Thankfully, every FO has more patience than some fans. Admittedly, he hasn't exactly been great.....yet.
  10. I'm sure they don't take them w/o a number agreed to (or close to agreed to).....so I'm guessing they do sign them all.
  11. I'd rather they keep taking pitchers at this point. It would be unusual for a C taken this late to be good at the MLB level...I'd just keep waiting on C.
  12. Baldelli doesn't sign players, or put them on the roster. This is on the FO. 100%.
  13. I think you make a good point....40% of their games they've scored 2 or less runs ( I read that, hoping it's true). Sure, each individual could be worse, but scoring 2 or less runs won't win you any games, so those games can't really be worse as a team. Rip the damn bandaid off....
  14. https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/depth-charts/twins 5 games so far.....but, was he ever a real prospect? Put f;n Severino there for peete's sake. (yes, I spelled pete wrong)
  15. Go read his draft profile......he's been hurt the whole time he's been in MN. He wasn't taken that early in the draft and put in the upper minors for no reason.
  16. They literally have zero OFers on the roster this year that are signed for next year (unless one thinks Buxton will play there next year). And yet, they refuse to move on from proven bad players and at least see if the youth is better or not. No idea how they'll know what to do next year, given that lack of information (or, they've already decided Larnach and Wallner aren't the answer, in which case they should be dealt).
  17. They literally have a new guy in charge.....so, yes, this would be urgency.
  18. I'm not sure why you are mentioning every day assets that are MLB players. As for prospects? They'd get at least one top 100 and two more decent to good ones. That's likely better than the pick they'd get when he turns down the QO.
  19. I like this draft, knowing NOTHING about the guys after day 1 other than their positions and age.
