    As you know.... If you've read my posts, my point is that this is the excuse every year. That they aren't one player away. That no good players were traded. That the price was too high. It can't be true every year*. Unless every other team in baseball is wrong. *Excepting one year.

    Who said it was certain to work? I said I'd pay that price. And, as I've said repeatedly, if it's the same story every year, there's more to it than just this year not being the right year. Also, it's a self fulfilling prophecy not to add players, and claim you don't have enough players to be good.... But yes, the key failure was the off season and cutting payroll.

    So you're saying in the history of the team, since the Pohlad's bought it, it has only been the right year 1 time? Because that was the point of my post. It is never the right year. You'd think that would get the GMs fired faster. If you never deal prospects until you have the best record in baseball, I doubt you'd get a GM job. Because lots of GMs do it, and still have their jobs.

    How many WS have those bottom half teams won? Also, zero people are talking about constructing a team at the beginning of the year, but not adding players at the deadline nearly every year. How many playoff series have the TWins won by not adding players?

    It's the same narrative every year but one.....and I'm skeptical that it is true that it never makes sense. Standing pat certainly hasn't won them many playoff series.

    One advantage he has over Miranda is health, apparently. You can't win games from the IL. I like Miranda a lot, but I'd give Severino a shot at some point.
