  1. I'm a much bigger believer than many here. He was a consensus top 100 guy when they got him, then he got hurt. He's going to be in the majors for 3-5 years at least. Will he be great? Probably not, given his glove. But he could be a 2 war player, and those don't grow on trees (at least not in MN). Heck, I'd put him in MN right now and see what he is and get his feet wet. But even I don't think that's realistic.
  2. I mean, all the explanations of these are on Fangraphs.....but ya, they are close to replacement at other spots. They also have the worst defense, by far, of any "contender."
  3. I gave this a sad emoji, not because you are wrong, but because you are right, IMO.
  4. Every team passed on him twice, so it wasn't people here..... It was actual GMs.
  5. Four guys really came to hit. The other five? Ugh. How do you score two runs with that many base runners?
  6. Sure. Lord of guys need to go, but France is an expiring deal, and is not good at all. And that was aimed at Kiersey. I have more patience for guys that might be part of the future. France isn't. Nor is Kiersey. They aren't replacing Jeffers, Lewis, CC, Buxton, Larnach. Or Castro. Or Bader. And can't replace Vazquez, alas. Or Clemens for now. That leaves Wallner, Lee, and France and Kiersey.
  7. Still better than France. And mostly than Lewis. The impatience with young players doesn't help them. That said, Lee has been a huge disappointment to me.
  8. He's better than Kiersey? And I'm not going to look at minor league numbers, we know what he is for the most part.
  9. Sure, I'm not arguing to trade him this year, or not to.
  10. Fair. The record of HS pitchers is awful and he's already hurt. Is he going to miss the entire year? GG will be a ML player at some point, for some time. I can't say the same about Soto. The article completely ignores his injury.
  11. Still no Martin for Kiersey or France. Are they even awake at HQ?
  12. The idea that trading one RP is giving up for three years is absurd. Milwaukee traded Burnes and didn't quit.
  13. I mean, what if Duran gets hurt? What if they have zero good catchers for the next five years? You can't be certain of anything in life. If you believe the target is a legit player, you trade for him.
  14. I feel like this is always your answer. How's their development process working going slowly? The rush is they could be up next year, but every time they wait, the excuse is to wait because they haven't been promoted yet.
  15. I'd deal Duran for six years of Jeffers, yes.
  16. I can't see getting even close to a top ten overall prospect for a RP. If they did, you'd have to take it.
  17. He has no trade value. He was DFA last year for playing this way.
