  1. Wow you don’t often see Purdy make bad reads like that
  2. San Fran’s offense,,, Hot knife, meet butter. Only takes one play, though
  3. The first 3 quarters?
  4. Yeah, you are right, I momentarily forget that would be the rule
  5. Houston came home up 3 games to 2, and couldn’t finish it off
  6. But at the two yard line? 🙂
  7. As long as 12 noon Kirk shows up, we’ll be ok Garver just took a bean ball from Abreu, in the ribs of course
  8. kickoffs are going to be banned here any year now
  9. Cousins not looking too bad in the second half. The Vikes are manhandling a very good team here. Now Convert a TD
  10. true, and a guy like Cook would open it up even more
  11. Huge play by Addison! What the hell Cousins. Basically Cassel, Keenum, any other half decent QB can lead a 2-minute drive better than Cousins did there. yes very entertaining
  12. Let’s say Correa was a free agent this offseason. Would people want to sign him going forward for 5/167?
  13. Gray was great. I have no strong opinion on the trade to share, except that the model the Twins are using to acquire pitching is unsustainable, in my opinion. The Twins broke camp in 2023 with a starting rotation acquired wholly through trades. Would you rather have Lopez, Gray, Ryan, Mahle and Maeda, or would you rather have Graterol, Petty, Steer, CES, Hajjar, and Arraez? I think with the Lopez extension, and as long as he stays healthy, they come out ahead on that grand bargain. However, the presence of a pitching pipeline would have allowed for the Twins to keep some of those prospects and fill one more of those rotation pieces in-house. Sonny Gray was great and the Twins advanced to the division round once in his two years, and Chase Petty would be the Twins 3rd rated prospect behind Jenkins and Lee heading into 2024. Was that a bargain you would have made two years ago?
  14. Thanks, Brock. I think this is a good idea, with caveats. I would worry about emotions subbing for content. Stuff like “Walkler Jenkins,is teh greatest p;ropect the Twins in like Forever!!1” Speaking for myself, I would probably go back to just Google to look for info, if I went to a player’s wiki page and ran into that. So that is over the top, but then there is the more subtle stuff, which I admit I can be guilty of doing. I have said some things in the discussion forums that maybe have not crossed the line, but that I would not want to say as a contributor to a wiki. The lesser known stuff would be fun to explore and have access to in one place, as long as it’s been previously published or broadcast or comes from a good source. There is a lot of stuff you hear on the radio that is hearsay, and borderline, but also super interesting (thinking of how certain players have spent their offseasons). So that gets sticky. Wikipedia requires sourcing and citations for the more obscure stuff. As a reader of a wiki page, I would want those sources. And I’m sure unfavorable personal stuff is off limits, unless maybe it’s been published already (thinking of Puckett). But I think it’s that lesser, obscure stuff you would want in order to differentiate yourself from the usual stuff or Wikipedia pages that already exist? Not sure want you have in mind exactly, but it’s got my interest. Keep us posted.
  15. We have heard for years that low revenues from televising games has restricted the Twins ability to sign high price free agents. Maybe this is finally the year the Twins negotiate a smart deal for themselves.
  16. I’ll just say Rocco is the fourth best manager in that Tweet you posted
  17. I mean, separate from the whole Gallo debate, Gallo was the only other logical pick to play first base besides Solano.
  18. Rocco did okay for these two series. In my opinion, his negative marks had more to do with roster decisions and game planning, than actual game situations. I thought they would have Funderburk active for the both series, and Gallo should have been the injury callup in Game 4 instead of Buxton. Otherwise, I think Houston just beat us Fair and square.
  19. She should trade Arraez over to Boston really quick 🤣
  20. The move to put Buxton on the roster before Game 4 and then put him in the game in a big spot would be a good way to test our theories about how the front office and the manager come to decisions. Unfortunately we are not privy to the discussions they had.
  21. I think it's complicated. You did not mention Buxton - I wonder if the Buxton saga might have overshadowed the postseason wins. In short, I think it was a win for fans, because that feeling at Target Field was electric. But in all honesty, I don't think the Twins are any closer to being a serious contender for anything, if I can use that phrase.
  22. I think there are a couple of Twins minor leaguers who can reach 98mph. I don’t know if they were the ones throwing the live BP to Buxton, or when that even happened. Buxton has preferred the batting cages, remember. I think we are both Twins fans but maybe watch the game differently. I don’t think Buxton was ready to go Wednesday and I think there is a lot more to this than meets the eye. Thank you for being a Twins Daily caretaker.
