  1. Interesting, considering Escobar has done fine as our new shortstop. also, I'm surprised it's a position player as we all know how Gardy hates carrying only 13 pitchers.
  2. UPDATING Runs: Dozier (26) still ranked first in MLB. Mauer, Plouffe (each at 20) tied at 11th in MLB. Hits: Colabello has cooled off. Two hits in the last week. Mauer now leads the team in hits (31) and ranks tied-12th in AL. Home Runs: Dozier (7) is in an 8-way tie for 7th in MLB RBI: Colabello (27) is still 3rd in MLB. Plouffe and Suzuki tied for 15th overall, not bad. BB: Dozier (21) and Mauer (19) rank in top 10 of MLB. Twins lead MLB with 133, followed by Oakland (130) and Boston (124). Still a great trend …… The Dodgers are up to 7th in MLB in BB with 100 after drawing 18 walks from us in yesterday's doubleheader. (Can't say walks cost us the game, as none of the 12 walks in the second game factored into the scoring!) SO: Dozier, Kubel, Mauer each sit at 28 K's, none among the top 20 for most strikeouts …… Team is 10th highest with 238. Not a big deal. BA: Here's the unfortunate drop. No one who qualifies is over .300 any longer... as of today, Kubel, Mauer, Suzuki, Colabello, all batting between .290 and .300, Plouffe cooled off to .277 and hopefully not back on his way down to the .230s. OBP: Mauer leads the team at .397, which ranks 19th in MLB. SLG: Colabello still leads team, with .470, but is out of MLB Top 50. OPS: Plouffe leads with .819 but also out of top 50.
  3. Haha, show me the play where the injured his groin. Is the code for something? Is this related to the Christian Ponder rib injuries we hear about every year?
  4. Ugh, this feels like a "take a break, everyone" kind of night. That said, I will probably be lurking anyway Nolasco, go out there and give us 8 innings or don't come back. No one get hurt please. This is only 1 game out of 162 and no need to play every one like it's the NFC championship game. That;s a good way to burn out.
  5. Haha, there's another story in that article besides Center Field. I wanted to make a joke in the game thread last night about how soon we would hear the Twins whine about their bullpen needing rest. After the entire team just had three days off. Great reporting LENIII looks like it's already happening!
  6. "...and if anybody gets on, Brian Dozier" stick it out a few more minutes!
  7. Its not the 6 walks that will bother Gardy, it's the 5 strikeouts
  8. When can you start? Can you get to the park tonight?
  9. For me the problem goes beyond Pelfrey. Take out Pelfrey's starts and here is the ERA of the other four: 5.86. But I think Pelf is done for a while after today. He sounded completely discouraged after one of his previous starts too, almost like he was asking to be relieved from the rotation.
  10. Nope I texted her about this thread and she didn't get back to me, so nope.
  11. Three people: Mike Pelfrey, Mike Pelfrey's agent, and me.
  12. I like b. or c.
  13. Can we use him on the power play?
  14. I'm sure that girl was a well paid actor and the whole thing was orchestrated by Gomez's own personal PR staff who bribed the cameraman -- it's amazing the broadcast team fell for it. seriously though, it's really hard to find anyone in this world who is either pure hero or pure villain. Gomez happens to wear it on his sleeve.
  15. If it were 10 degrees cooler this would be two feet of snow!
  16. This is why we also need a Mound Rushmore.. mine would have Kaat, Viola, Radke, Nathan. No substitutions, sorry Johan, sorry Aggie.
  17. Here is my Mount Leathermore: Greg Gagne, Torii Hunter, Dougie Mientkiewicz, and... wait for it.. little Nickie P..
  18. We've seen two of these in two weeks.. hard to figure.. but this patience at the plate looks like part of the plan, and not really a fluke. I'm tempted to say the Twins should be 10-13 instead of 12-11 but like you, I'll take it
  19. The Twins aren't the only surprise team to play to .500 if you count the White Sox, Mets, Marlins, Padres, etc. Most of our guys who had torrid starts are now cooling off a little, as you mentioned. Let's hope it's not a three week fluke. I predict a change of shortstop soon. I can't figure out the bad starting pitching but we can hope it will improve with the warm weather (except that the ball travels farther when it's warmer and Gibson's best game was on a 40 degree day).
  20. Well be prepared for at least a night game.. it's an NL team coming so they'll try to find any two hour window to complete a 5-inning game in (3 hours if it's Pelfrey).. and if there's a rainout priority for rescheduling it will go to Thursday evening I would guess.
  21. I will give you Nishi, Ron Davis, and Tommy Herr (I call him "Tommy" because he and I go way back), but yes please save a place for a 1978 outfielder
