  1. It's you, it's the team, AND it's the swag
  2. um, ok jokin, whatever you say Seriously though, no question Solarte has been a genuine spark plug for those guys. His April stats are nice and the Twins have some guys with nice April stats too. I love the updates. Random fact: Jeter once had an 0-32 streak in April and still pretty much finished the year at his career averages.
  3. Bad ball hitting? Maybe he's finally taking the "Puckett vs. Mauer" debate to heart
  4. darn it hicksie. I'm not seeing the game, just seeing outs on the internet.
  5. When I think 180.. "Plouffe races in on a slow grounder, turns and throws back to third--- OHH and it's down the left field line! No one was covering third! One run scores...
  6. This anecdote is also retold in Dickey's book. Here in Twins territory, we employ chess tactics far beyond what any mortal baseball mind could ever hope to understand, all you can do is hope it works
  7. Honestly if you compare Florimon's 2013 hitting to just about any other guy who played middle infield since Hardy left, Florimon is really not that far off offensively. Florimon's 2013 stat line is identical to Dozier's 2012 stat line. Plouffe couldn't hit out of the .230s when he was shortstop (did provide some power). None of the other guys like Carroll, Tolbert, Hughes, could provide any offense at all, except Casilla. Yeah so Florimon is not the future shortstop, but I will defend him against these other guys we've had, in a heartbeat.
  8. No, but I saw the time Matt Tolbert -- bless him -- tripped over second base trying to take a throw on a steal attempt.
  9. Also thank your Commissioner for schedule imbalance. Toronto doesn't come back this way again this year. And to those folks not in the Twin Cities…. YES it is snowing heavily, the wet miserable type of snow, blowing and creating slush everywhere. Northern Wisconsin will get the worst of it as usual. No chance the game would be played but tomorrow is looking up.
  10. On a team that has been finishing 30 games below .500, here we have a pitcher who has been winning half his starts and is fun as heck to watch while doing it! So I guess I see why Deduno was cast into the bullpen because of the signings, though I don't agree. I'd like to see him get first crack, followed by May, followed by whoever / hoping it doesn't come to that.
  11. I think the lesson tonite is, don't play against Canadian bank robbers...
  12. didn't you guys do movie quotes tonight? I blame TD.
  13. Honestly though, thats a real f-----------------ing lonely feeling out there for him right now. as far as key at bats he's done, but I hope he gets it turned around
  14. And the answer to my question is Yes, yes he did.
  15. um, you saw he singled, right?
  16. I think he's hitting like .856 after the 7th inning
  17. good eye Joe There was a 3-run bomb on the other side of that base on balls
  18. That's the first play I've seen tonite------ ugh throw it home!
  19. There will come a point when I will no longer defend him, but I'm not there yet. If the middle of the order keeps rockin' I'll tolerate a bad slash line… but *ahem* yes, for the record, he's presently at .067/.176/.067.
  20. Actually Brock I wasn't aware of K-Flo's leadoff walk that inning til after the fact. Heck I wasn't even aware that during that 2-run rally the only batted ball the Twins put in play the whole inning was Herrmann's ground ball to the pitcher. I'm usually willing to look back and see who the leadoff guy was and give him some credit for getting a rally started. I think Florimon's BB+SB in question doesn't buy any slack from his skeptics but it does buy some slack from the folks who appreciate his glove and tolerate his failings as a hitter (if you can call him that).
