  1. Swept by the Yankees — make it official! 🙂
  2. Pablo keeping down Rocco’s leg would be worse than both those things 🙂
  3. Stripes reference — it will be funnier once I explain it 🙂
  4. I do think they oversold that whole idea. Pablo is good, but is he Johan Santana good? Under promise and over-deliver. This team (and this website) might do well to try that approach one of these times
  5. New Contract extension for Vázquez in 3, 2,
  6. Without having the deep data in front of me, or the benefit of the 1000s of Twins Daily articles, I am going to guess that Lopez’s problem (‘problem’) this year has actually been being too much in the strike zone. His walk:inning ratio has always been very good, one walk per every three or four innings, but this year it is up to 1 walk per 6 innings. my Rx for Pablo: issue a few more free passes, even in touchy spots. Let a pitch slip out of your hand a little more often (oops, didn’t mean to throw that one in so close…) … but not on 0-2, kthanx bye
  7. woa.. Correa hit a home run? He must now have almost as many as Royce Lewis! 🤣
  8. More likely than not, Twins with a chance to pick up a game tonight. Then I look at Cleveland’s schedule and they play Miami this weekend. Thats another 2-of-3 for them. Every matchup easier than the last. Who does Cleveland play next week? Probably someone like Little Sisters of the Poor, or some hyphenated teams, etc
  9. A monkey throwing darts could have called a better strike zone tonight
  10. You mean Paddack threw up and in? ”See there he threw up”— you could have stopped there 🙂
  11. Trying to make a World Series run with a lineup of mostly platoon/part-time players.
  12. Being alive is a pretty good gig, if you can hold on to it long enough
  13. Will Royce Lewis become human tonight? The last MLB player to carry a 4.000 OPS this late into the season was… Jamie Quirk, 1984 (trigger warning if you need to look this one up) (also not sure if that is factual)
  14. The Thielbar situation reminds me of the Tyler Duffey situation from a couple years ago
  15. Ian Hamilton from 2022-good catch. You sure you want to make that information public to critics like me? 😆
  16. Plus, isn’t the inside edge the easiest to see? (Yeah the pitch went right to the flinch area)
  17. Vázquez was set up for low and away, curve came in the high and in corner. Ober missed his location by a mile—granted should still be called a strike @TwinsCD @mnfireman
  18. iirc the early ‘condensed games’ from the 2015-2016 era showed the plays of the game without announcers or commentary, just 100% natural sound. With just animated graphic to let you know what inning you were going into. And those game replays showed like 80-90% of the total plays during the game, all of the hits, runs and odds plays, and even most of the routine putouts. For the baseball purists out there, it was glorious.
  19. Someone else mentioned that but I am not a fan. I think it makes Royce Lewis into more of a utility player than a fixture at third base, which he needs to be. On a related note, as long as we are talking about moving everyone else around the infield, maybe we can start thinking about Correa moving to third at some point. There’s no way I would make that move as long as Correa is performing the way he is but it will become a legitimate topic at some point down the road sooner or later.
