  2. Well then. For what it's worth to the discussion, the 2013 version of Danny Santana committed 32 errors in New Britain. Maybe this is a BBA issue.
  3. on that, I disagree with you. With the wild card it might only take a season with something like mid-80s wins to find yourself in contention. The Twins did that last year by accident. Although I agree I wouldn't necessarily call them a contender next year, but wild card should be the minimum goal every year for most teams.
  4. Polanco is (or was) a top organizational prospect behind Buxton and Sano, so benching him sounds like a terrible idea. Is Antony dictating to Molitor or is Molitor telling Antony this stuff? Because I also heard Antony say that when Plouffe comes back, Sano will be the guy being moved around again.
  5. That could have been said of Mauer his first season at first, I'm sure you realize. I guess to me passable means does his bat justify him playing there? It might mean something different tomorrow. For now it means Sano and Nunez both played passable defense at their positions this year--and you already know I think Sano is better than passable with the glove anyway, fielding % notwithstanding.
  6. Depends on who you ask? The folks already giving up on Sano are likely to be as quickly disappointed with Polanco, at least based on Seth's report of his errors. I don't mind if Polanco moves around but the only open position in the infield is shortstop, and it is wide open now with Nunez gone.
  7. In three seasons, Nunez's defense went from biblical to passable. There is hope for Sano!
  8. If not WAR, what measure would you propose?
  9. Mejia's fifth day in the rotation would come Tuesday btw
  10. It also frees up DanSan to play shortstop again!
  11. I'm in total agreement. I liked Eddie.
  12. Well, Mejia has a really good ERA in the minors
  13. I can't tell if Kintzler would be a good 9th inning guy over a full season. Despite his lack of velocity, I think he might have a year or two in him as a closer.
  14. I thought Sano and Arcia were the only ones who made errors. Oh wait, scored a hit
  15. I think this was the rainout game when it never actually rained..
  16. in Rochester this season: 22 singles, 11 walks, 2 hit-by-pitch, unknown number of reached by error, four stolen base attempts. That doesn't seem like much base stealing work for a guy with Buxton's speed and inexperience.
  17. Of course Mauer was twice the catcher and AJ will never get more than a single vote or two, if any. But it is an interesting contrast that we traded AJ for Mauer, Mauer went on to have a borderline-HOF career, and yet AJ caught almost twice as many games (guesstimating). I think the key word in Halsey's post was "chuckle". ... Which may or may not be to your taste in wry humor...
  18. The only thing I can offer you is that although I believe like you do that there are a large number of uncounted, unpolled poor whites who will come to vote this cycle, they will be outnumbered by the number of rational Romney/Bush type voters who will in no way vote for Trump. Especially after Trump ****s the debates. But am I 100% confident about that? Nope.
  19. The Sunday/Monday hole in the rotation only matters if Antony feels compelled to wait until the last minute to make a trade. He could still call up Berrios tonight in preparation for his Monday start, and if no one gets traded, then someone moves to the bullpen to make way? The Twins don't have a day off coming up, so calling up another starter in addition to Berrios might be a better option than patching a game with the bullpen if someone is traded. Another idea would be to push everyone back a day and offer Rogers another start, with Duffey first in to relieve Rogers.
  20. I thought so too..hit a little too soft to just jog in on and play on a short hop
  21. Do you have enough to share for everyone?
