  1. He had a minor physical issue pulling in to first base after his hit in the 1st (it would be even better if he was suddenly traded)
  2. Was it me, or did they just show Jhoan Durán hugging the other bullpens guys for like three seconds (watching at a bar without access to audio)
  3. He looked so good, the first time through the order…
  4. Have to disagree - the triple was a fly ball that hit the cushion on the wall funny. No other way to play it.
  5. Spoiler! Boston is just as terrible as the Twins, except their record happens to be better. This is not the MLB of 15 years ago.
  6. Yes, that Lee is more prone to swing and then protect and foul a pitch that leaves the zone. In other words, more likely to strike out swinging on a pitch outside the zone, than strike out looking on a pitch down the middle. (Confession— I don’t know what the data actually says) That winning hit was on a perfect pitch outside to slap to left. Point being you don’t see as many guys hit like that as you used to.
  7. Nice to see the team react at the end, and Lee be in the middle of that. Lee has not been great but he reminds me more of the old school type of hitter, more like Puckett than Julien on the hitting spectrum. Nice response following the Chris Paddack trade. Maybe Paddack was the guy playing the Josh Donaldson role and creating the strain in the clubhouse!! 🙂 (doubt it, but maybe)
  8. Holy lord also, who woulda guessed players would be mixed up in this now with the sports-gambling partnerships ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ MLB: “money for me, prison for thee”
  9. “Be ready at any moment!” - repeated every day for six months
  10. Now we know where the front office is getting its ideas from—Twins Daily readers!
  11. and put Larnach at second base? How many games has Keaschall played in left field in the minors? go ahead, take a guess 😉
  12. For the same reason as 95% of everyone else. I think fans get too caught up in the “Player X was never gonna sign here” rhetoric.
  13. Since this is the Harrison Bader thread, here is my hot Harrison Bader take: Offer Bader a short term but generous extension to platoon with Larnach and Wallner in 2026-2027, and provide Buxton insurance. (For those of you old enough to remember that Buxton was once an injury-prone player.) I have no problem trading the other expiring contracts or some middle of the ladder bullpen arms. Or even putting one of Wallner or Larnach in a trade, but I would keep Bader.
  14. We can disagree! Look more at the raw baseball talent than the actual results. There is a failure of coaching, clubhouse business, and whatever else that isnt getting the players to realize their potential. Bad teams with bad players and bad pitching staffs do not rattle off a dozen consecutive wins like the Twins did. (Granted, a bad team might get to half a dozen wins once or twice.) A player with no raw talent does not somehow luck his way into a streak of 12 straight hits, like Jose Miranda did in 2024. anyway, that’s my point.
  15. A managerial change and coaching staff overhaul would do wonders, I think. There is too much talent in this team. I won’t say “anyone” would be better than Rocco, because Tony LaRussa coming out of retirement to manage the White Sox set that organization back 6-8 years (and counting). And not Tingler as “interim” either. But, just about anyone besides that? Yeah probably.
  16. Cleveland Browns new helmet reveal—-Why I still love the internet (no photographers were hurt)
  17. There are several teams in the league with a Tampa Bay freebie on their roster—Manzardo and Arozaren come to mind. Not as valuable as Ryan but still solid. There is at least one more big name that’s not coming to me at the moment. Blake Snell was another one, but offseason I think. Anyway, yeah Joe Ryan was a great pickup. If it was that easy, they would be doing a couple Joe Ryan trades every year. But it isn’t. so what’s your plan though? Ok, trade guys for prospects, and then what?
  18. I think the one player they could trade who would bring back MLB-ready starting pitching, or at least the raw material of a good starter, would be Royce Lewis.
  19. My number one thing of actions that could be taken right away is that I wish Rocco would make an everyday lineup and stick to it. This has worked for decades. The Twins new philosophy of “anyone anywhere anytime, be ready” is not sustainable over a full season. A set lineup would let players know their roles and expectations and help their preparation and would make Rocco’s late inning substitutions less of a guessing game. Keaschall has earned a promotion and may be back with the team next week. What’s the plan for the middle infielders, Keaschall, Lewis, Lee, Correa? Keep shuffling them around the infield up and down the order with random off days?
  20. Didn’t see game, but the non-intentional intentional walk would have been an option too. Made a little bit trickier with right on left and your breaking pitches breaking in onto the bat.
