  1. Sorry I didn't answer, I was too busy watching another Twins batter hit another feeble pop up
  2. same pitch, same location who woulda thunk that could happen
  3. Welp, at least Niko Goodrum struck out last inning
  4. They are coming down hard, but not as hard as Buxton comes down after crashing into the fence http://mlb.mlb.com/images/7/0/8/230182708/051417_mlb_gif_buxton_catch_med_e4rgqdz2.gif
  5. And awayyyyy it went 1-0 bad guys after a long home run
  6. Hopefully Gardy says "gotta tip your cap" a lot this week
  7. You are so right. It is about production. Whatever their positions on the team, they still need to produce on the field. Non-producers don't have a big voice in the clubhouse. The front office was probably expecting either Buxton or Sano to take the next step and produce this year. I was sure hoping they would. Hope is not a strategy. I think the doom and gloom over Buxton is misplaced, but to each their own. I think he will be great. Just wish it would happen on my timeline, and not Buxton's own timeline. Also, my timeline is the 2018-2033 seasons.
  8. Leadership in this clubhouse could be a very compelling topic of discussion. How fair is it to appoint Buxton as a leader, since he's still pretty young hasn't produced over a full season yet? How fortunate are the Twins to have guys like Rosario, Kepler and Escobar to stand in while Buxton and Sano struggle or rehab? Is it even necessary for Sano to be a standout for this team to compete for a title? (I doubt it--the Twins would do fine without him.) Was it really wise for the Twins to sign Lynn? Did Lynn really have no other offers? What do we draw from that, and what does bringing a guy like that into the clubhouse do for the chemistry of the team and the current clubhouse leaders?
  9. What do you mean by "hot bat" theory? What's wrong with playing guys who are hitting well and sitting guys who need a break?
  10. Don't worry about predicting Buxton would be in the MVP conversation. He'll figure it out. The foul ball off his toe set him back; he should have traveled with the team during his migraines or met up with the team in New York instead of going on that rehab, and I said as much at the time. It would be nice if Buxton was superhuman, unfortunately he's just human.
  11. Mauer to DL This team has near zero credibility when announcing injury updates.
  12. I'm not going to make a prediction, but why do you think this team will look the same today as it will 30, 60, and 90 days from now?
  13. Sounds legit, just unfortunate it couldn't have healed up over the two off days he just had. Deciding it's too bad to play with, while in the on deck circle, is a nice twist. I have no idea which way this team is going to go this year.
  14. Is this true? Update on Mauer from the Athletic: Joe Mauer exited Friday’s game with a stiff neck, the result of a diving attempt at a foul ball last weekend in Anaheim. Mauer is listed as day-to-day but sounds iffy to play in Saturday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers and could potentially miss Sunday, too. ... “I landed pretty hard and had some whiplash,” Mauer said. “Just been coming in and getting treatment and trying to get out there every day, but (Friday) I got out there and it started to stiffen up and get a little worse. I talked to the trainers and coaches and they thought it was best if I got out of there before it got any worse.” “I’d like to be in the lineup (Saturday), to be honest. It might take a day or two. Nothing more than that. I just think I need to let it calm down.”
  15. Also, Gardy's team doing his thing on the Clevelands
  16. Don't worry, little Bobby, that's a home run in July
  17. Can the bottom of the Twins order score a runner from second with no out? Stay tuned!
  18. a tiny bit higher on the bat and that was a monster home run
  19. "Hey!" "Don't compare us to the Twins offense like that!"
