  1. I think I've heard that said about every 3B coach the Twins have ever had. BTW - who do you think is the best 3B coach in baseball? No fair looking up people's names after the question is asked.
  2. It's great that this game had so much action that the fire alarm delay doesn't even make the recap.
  3. Read the mlb.com recap https://www.mlb.com/twins/news/twins-carlos-correa-rocco-baldelli-ejected-against-mariners
  4. It is interesting that Topa was overlooked as an option to get more innings in the article. He's been overlooked by Rocco, too. He has a 2.37 ERA and good peripherals to go with it but he sits on the bench for multiple games in a row. Alcala pitched with the lead and Topa went into the game when they were behind but I don't understand why the roles weren't reversed.
  5. I also dispute that the workload is too stressful for these pitchers. They're getting adequate rest between outings, never being asked to go more than one inning, taking advantage of off days. If a pitcher can't handle 2-3 innings a week, then he's probably not suited for a major league bullpen.
  6. It wasn't just the bad start that had people so disillusioned. It was the bad start combined with the total collapse at the end of 2024. The Twins were one of the worst teams in baseball for 3 solid months. Nobody expected them to produce the 2nd longest win streak in franchise history. Since the streak ended, they're winning half their games. That's probably the best measure of this team right now.
  7. Agree, a very good game to watch and a fun battle in this series. Ober threw a lot of pitches. If it makes you feel any better, Seattle's bullpen is just as depleted as the Twins.
  8. Kiersey has been lousy. He's one of the worst players in MLB this year, even with Rocco trying his hardest to hide his deficiencies.
  9. Adam Wainwright was raving about the throw. He said he didn't think Rodriguez had a chance at Wallner (who is running at his normal above average speed and not showing any signs of injury BTW). That's a play where the runner has a 95% chance of scoring. Are you sure you don't want Watkins sending runners when they have a 95% chance of scoring a run?
  10. If only I could have stayed up past the 4th inning. A Radke-esque start for Matthews, Buxton and Correa performing like they can, and a huge night for Castro and Larnach.
  11. Players generally peak ages 26-28.
  12. How many of those players were 26 or older? Young players can keep improving at the MLB level.
  13. Wants to watch Forest Lake softball compete in the State Tournament next week. Go Rangers!
  14. Hates the Twins City Connect jerseys as much as I do
  15. Wants to set the Saints HR record
  16. Then there's Kevin Maitan, who will retire in A-Ball. There are a bunch of roster-filler guys in the minors for the Twins already: Ford, Alvarez, Dearden, Cerda, Prato, Hess, Houghton, Shuffield, Joel Cesar, Rozek. They'll add 10-12 more players in the draft but we won't see many of them right away because they spend so much time getting them into the system.
  17. Neither one is going to provide much defensive value. If they don't hit, they're unplayable.
  18. He has been robbed by the defense several times. That isn't a problem if you put the ball over the fence. We need a Royce Lewis who hits dingers. Please don't turn him into Ty France.
  19. He's not going to hit better in MLB. He's going to walk less often, strike out more often and lose hits to better defenses. Maybe he hits .220 with fewer extra base hits. A drop in OPS of 200 is expected, which is equivalent to a drop in batting average of 100 points.
