    I'm guessing you won't. Keaschall has a .238/.353/.238 line during his rehab. I think they'll option him, unless they want to preserve all of his options for 2026-2029.

    If you look at the Saints stats, the top hitters by OPS were: Mickey Gasper .915 Ed Julien .879 Noah Cardenas .877 Ryan Fitzgerald .837 Austin Martin .829 They're all up except Cardenas (because nobody in MLB wanted Christian Vazquez). Then there's Alan Roden with his .918 OPS in Buffalo. They didn't call up McCusker (.821), Sabato (.770) or Eeles (.717) because they didn't hit as well as Ryan Fitzgerald.

    With Gasper, he's barely spent a season in the Twins organization, which means the Yankees and Red Sox also don't teach bunting at any level in the minor leagues. I listened to the Cleveland broadcast on Sirius XM and their announcer (Hamilton?) was shocked at how bad Keirsey is at bunting. I thought Ohl did a pretty good job coming through when Rocco decided to have a slow hook for the first time in his managerial career. That may be part of the "Ohl is a 3-inning pitcher" directive from the front office.

    One, they are rewarded for losing the rest of this season. Two, they’re pretty confident they have enough pitching in the minors to put together another bullpen. That’s where Morris and Culpepper and Raya and Prielipp are most likely to contribute.

    Falvey traded Varland for a player he thinks can replace Larnach and a starting pitcher prospect. The trades weren't for tanking. The roster they've chosen after the trades means they're tanking.

    They could slide back a few picks in the upcoming draft if they win too many games. There are 18 players on the 40-man who would be really easy to cut (I counted). They have about 7 guys who need to be added to avoid Rule 5.

    Those are new 40-man adds. I think that puts them at 37 total.

    Roden is supposed to be a decent outfielder and has played 1B for one inning in the minors. Making him the new starting 1B sounds like a Rocco move.

    So, they traded Brock Stewart for someone they think is worse than Austin Martin? He came into the season with 1 year and 95 days of service. He has been on the Dodgers' roster for 27 games. There are 54 games left in the season. I think he needs to sit in AAA for 2 weeks for the Twins to gain control of him for 2030 (when he will be 33 years old). I don't think he'll last past his second year of arbitration on the roster, so I don't understand why that matters.

    The 2027 estimate is at least $30M too high. They are estimating escalating arbitration costs for players who aren't even on the 40-man roster at the moment (Bride, Duarte) as well as players like Miranda who will not be tendered a contract. If they don't make moves, they're looking at $140M in 2027 and 2028.
