  1. He's a .200 hitter in A-ball. That won't play in the major leagues no matter how good his glove is. He's nowhere near the best SS prospect in baseball. Would you trade Jackson Holliday for Noah Miller?
  2. Jax was a bad starting pitcher who revived his career in the bullpen. Stewart is old and has never been durable.
  3. Sure, they can option him to the minors and start their standard build-up program for starting pitchers. He'll be ready in 2026 or 2027.
  4. Topa, but it wasn't a win-now move. They didn't make any win-now moves this offseason.
  5. No general manager in baseball would have traded Gabby Gonzalez straight up for DeSclafani. Gonzalez was clearly the best piece in the trade.
  6. Seattle had better hope so because at this moment the Twins win the trade if it is just Polanco for DeSclafani.
  7. Pretty much everyone wants that in a trade. Polanco wasn't worth that. Based just on his April production he wasn't worth the return the Twins received. He's at 106 plate appearances and Polanco has produced like a waiver wire acquisition while getting paid a pretty good salary.
  8. He might get more innings if they moved him to the bullpen
  9. That would put Farmer into his familiar role as the platoon mate for Edouard Julien. However, I am seeing less reason to use Farmer in that role. Farmer's defense has declined and his hitting has been terrible while Julien has taken a step forward offensively and defensively. Farmer should play as little as possible until he's seeing the ball better. The best scenario is he's playing hurt and goes on the IL when Correa returns. Then he can get healthy and get some rehab at-bats in AAA.
  10. An injury like that could definitely have an effect on his vision, which would explain zero barrels this season.
  11. It is important to acknowledge that even though Farmer may have been a slight overpay this past offseason there is no reason for anyone to have expected him to perform this poorly. Unfortunately, due to injuries the Twins have little option but to play him regularly hoping he breaks out of this slump.
  12. I thought the Marlins were even worse for hitting for their catchers.
  13. Over the past 2 weeks I'm not sure that has been true, which is sad. Some of the better bats would make the defense worse enough that I'd rather have Vazquez in the lineup and Jeffers at DH.
  14. It was a clear mistake at the time for the front office to not extend Jose Berrios. Once they made that bad decision, they did okay with the consequences. It appears they want to make that mistake all over again with their current young talent because they didn't offer ANY of them a team-friendly contract extension this past offseason.
  15. Did those playoff teams also rank next to last in offensive production? This team cannot win games with average starting pitching.
  16. 130 games for Jeffers is not going to happen unless 30 of those games are at DH. Adley Rutschman maxed out at 110 games behind the plate in 2023.
  17. Why do people continue to believe Berrios would have signed a free agent contract with the cheapskate Twins?
  18. I'm actually optimistic about the trade. Two of the members of the current team came from that trade. If Berrios had left as a free agent instead they would have nothing to show for it.
