  1. But then you have to pay him an MLB contract for the season and he earns a year of service time.
  2. Didn't the team move Dave St Peter to an advisory role to help sell the team?
  3. Most good lineups don't have their 1B batting 7th or 8th.
  4. Anyone off the waiver wire instead, please. Now they have officially dumped Headrick, Castellano and Henriquez to give Randy Dobnak a job and keep Canterino in the organization.
  5. If he makes it back to Philly, he's off the 40 man roster. The Twins could trade for him and he would remain off the 40 man roster.
  6. Buddy Kennedy is apparently available. The Phillies aren't taking him north.
  7. I believe password sharing will be common.
  8. Any word on the Rule 5 picks drafted ahead of Castellano? Are they all making the team? 1. White Sox: Shane Smith, RHP (from Brewers) 3. Angels: Garrett McDaniels, LHP (Dodgers, now LAA No. 29) 4. Athletics: Noah Murdock, RHP (Royals) 5. Nationals: Evan Reifert, RHP (Rays, now WSH No. 26) 6. Blue Jays: Angel Bastardo, RHP (Red Sox, now TOR No. 29) 8. Rays: Nathan Lavender, LHP (Mets)
  9. Monterrey, Mexico is an attractive place to showcase the game. They should also try to go back to Montreal.
  10. Many teams passed up the chance to draft him in December and he doesn't look more attractive now.
  11. That was actually true about Margot before he lost a step due to injury. 25-27 year old Manny Margot was a very similar player to Kepler.
  12. David Robertson has yet to sign. Maybe he comes in at the last minute. The fun move would be to add Prielipp - he's been unhittable this spring.

  14. If Gasper can pinch-hit for Vazquez and finish the game behind the plate he might have a role on the team.
  15. I expect Castro will spend most of his time in the infield with Miranda and Julien rotating at DH. That probably means they want another outfielder for the roster. I'm not sure what Keirsey, Martin or Gasper do that's better than any starter so I don't see how they get much playing time. Bader is going to get platoon at-bats and innings as a defensive replacement. The others don't really have a role.
  16. Yesterday was clearly a tryout for Blewett and Castellano. It didn't look good for Castellano when he spiked the first pitch into the ground.
  17. Misiewicz is the other arm they're considering for the last spot in the bullpen.
  18. I am not big on absolutes. I wouldn't it is impossible to jump from Double-A to the majors because other pitchers have done it before. It's unlikely, but clearly the Twins saw something they liked in Castellano that they didn't see in Henriquez or Headrick. It's important for the front office to take risks if they're not going to compete on payroll alone.
  19. Actually you said there was "no chance" he would make the roster. I think the Twins gave him every chance to make the roster. We've already seen two bullpen decisions they might regret - cutting Ronny Henriquez and Brent Headrick to keep Eiberson Castellano and Matt Canterino. Henriquez and Headrick both appear to have made an MLB roster and the Twins won't get a single inning out of Castellano and Canterino.
  20. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/twins-payton-eeles-out-after-knee-surgery/ That's why he didn't get an invite to spring training.
  21. Eeles is out with knee surgery. Free agency is pretty picked over but Joey Wendle is still looking for a job. Lots of players are about to either go on waivers or activate their minor league contract opt-out.
