  1. For 3 months of Castro? Yes, they have prospects that are worth that much.
  2. What you're really getting at is whether the new owner should be able to decide that they want to try to win in 2026 and 2027. I think that is why the Twins are asking such a high price for Duran and Jax. They want a trade that any GM would make under any circumstances.
  3. mlbtraderumors posted about Yankees interest in Willi Castro. I imagine they aren't the only ones.
  4. I sat behind two Twins fans at the Rockies game. One lady had a Clemens jersey and the other had a Keirsey jersey. I assumed they were related to the players.
  5. Who’s buying on these players? Not a contender, and that’s who is shopping. I saw Julien mentioned as a bargain pickup for the Astros but otherwise a contender is going to want good players instead.
  6. I expect Martin to get another shot when Castro and Bader are dealt. Miranda is having an awful season. I don’t know why anyone would want him. He might need to go to Japan or Korea for his next job. Julien could return a reliever like Adams, which could be useful. Better to deal him before they lose him on waivers next season.
  7. I think 2B is a clear place to add speed and defense. 1B is a clear place to add consistent offense. LF would be nice to add both with Jenkins but he’s a year off.
  8. Ultimately, I want the Twins to use Jax and Duran as bait to trade Coulombe and Stewart. Brock Stewart is basically a scratch and dent version of Jax and Duran. You can’t afford the payment for Jax? Let me show you this beauty I’ve got out back, runs like a dream and you can drive off with it today.
  9. These deals seem fair for Jax. For Duran I want another player. A-ball with upside. Closers demand a premium.
  10. What exactly do you think the three athletic trainers and two strength and conditioning coaches do all day? Are they just sitting in the clubhouse playing cards?

  12. Worth noting that neither Duran nor Jax was ever rated that highly.
  13. Jax is 30 and Duran is 27. Just based on that I’d rather trade Jax.
  14. I would be shocked if the Twins neglect to have their infielders run agility drills.
  15. Playoff odds down to 3.5%, dropped to 9th in the wild card race.
  16. He might drop off as he climbs the ladder but there aren’t many more rungs left to climb. Reminds me a little of Michael Cuddyer as a RH bat with a strong arm and otherwise below average defensive ability.
  17. Odds only up to 4.1%. They won but didn’t gain any ground on teams ahead of them in the standings.
  18. The Twins aren’t selling prospects this deadline but there are some “sell high” options. Brock Stewart is a good example. They could get a very good prospect for an arm they picked up off the scrap heap.
  19. His next two seasons are probably $21M in arbitration so that would be three additional seasons at $34M each for Joe Ryan ages 32-34. I think he would take that but doubt the Twins would offer it.
