  1. id give Ruc a shot in the big league rotation. Long relief doesn't seem to be his thing
  2. they have enough filler in AAA. Nothing against the guy, but there are roster limitations in AAA too
  3. sorry, release Pino, he's not on the 40.
  4. I would promote Jorge to the rotation, Reed to the bp, Gibson to AAA, DFA Belisle Promote Romero to AAA, DFA Pino Look to Promote Romero to the rotation after the all star break and send Santiago to the bullpen, DFA Breslow Curtiss is first on my list for injury, and probably Hughes goes first and looks to be soon, maybe 60 day
  5. theres by plenty of room for both promotions and outside talent. Not sure there the assets required to do both, but definitely the need
  6. straight up? No. For the right price anyone including Buxton should be available.
  7. Man! 12 pages and several mod warnings over a 26 year old on his 3rd time in AA! I don't even really care, but I keep checking in for all of the drama to unfold... and I was hoping the DFA would lead to a trade
  8. add with him a 4-5 with options remaining still on the rookie (Mejia type) and now your cooking
  9. In an interview with Mark Feinsand with MLB.com, Thad Levine had some interesting comments. http://m.twins.mlb.com/news/article/239262334/twins-surprising-but-keeping-eye-on-long-term/ From the article: ________________________ "I don't think we view it as we're just one piece away and we're not looking to finish off this club; we're looking to continue to build this club. We have a lot of core pieces that have a chance to be part of something special in the future, but we're cognizant that we're going to need to add to that core." "Some teams know where they are because they walked into the season with a clearer sense of where they were going to be. Where we are today vs. where people thought we were going to be at this point in the season is quite different. I think the Twins are one of the teams that will play this out as long as possible and allow for itself to kind of pivot one way or the other based upon how the rest of June and July ultimately unfolds." ________________________ In reading forums here, this seems to jive with some posters interpretations/predictions for how the FO will operate, and others this is a bit of a departure. For me, this is exactly what I want to hear. I don't want to see key players depart for lottery tickets 2-3 years away, but players with several seasons of team control are expensive. How does this fit with your view of the team situation and FO expectations? What kind of trade scenarios do you envision?
  10. exactly, if he can get himself right, off the 40 man roster, and earn himself a September call up over the next couple of months, that would be fantastic
  11. when Hughes was activated, Breslow was put on the DL
  12. yep, and no matter what your bullpen will be shot, so it would be like cobbling together 2 bullpen games if starting two pitchers back to back on short rest
  13. you also need 3-4 solid pretty much ready to be 5th starter types in AAA as well. Looks more like 6/8 as I think two of Turley, Gonsalves, Jorge, Romero could show signs of being close
  14. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/06/trevor-may-tommy-john-right-arm-leg.html
  15. Please elaborate...
  16. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/163495284/mlb-teams-need-starting-pitching-depth/ In 2015 an average MLB team used 10.9 starting pitchers, and every team used 8 or more. 8 is the minimum requirement, and this team didn't start with 5
  17. hes going back to triple A tonight for a reliever, right? Then Santiago takes his next turn in the rotation.
  18. my wife will tell me far more details than I could ever possibly retain... Grocery list? The most ridiculously vague document in the history of literature. If I call to ask questions I catch heck for calling about 35 times. If I guess, every single decision will be wrong, even if based on well established history.
  19. i gotta think Jeff Rowson and Rudy Hernandez value this stat as a piece of evidence to start dissecting swing mechanics/video
  20. minor league deal https://mobile.twitter.com/MikeBerardino/status/877335149477863424 So, you know, he'll be catching a flight from Rochester to Minneapolis in about 8 days
  21. off the Sears Tower? It is Chicago after all
  22. agreed! Another poster brought up pitch framing as well. Also tough to analyze. Defensive metrics and pitch framing metrics needs full seasons of data for the fielder/catcher. Now we're trying to analyze the combination of pitcher and fielder/catcher over two months of data. Talk about SSS!
