  1. I’m putting my kids down to bed and can’t listen. Game day makes Thorton look like he has no idea where the pitch is going. How’s it look on TV?
  2. I think you are on the right track, but first I want to see how/if Magill, Moya and Reed recover from injuries and take a look at Romero and Gonsalves too.
  3. With Marwin on the roster, Cave is expendable. With Big Toe in AAA, Adrianza is expendable. Considering all of the uncertainties, hold on to everyone as long as you can. Injury or ineffectiveness will sort this out. I believe the first crack to show up will be 13th pitcher before Sano is ready to return. At that point option Cave before DFAing Adrianza.
  4. i don’t either, but I’m not sure the question is framed accurately. How many of his injuries have been as a result of failure to make adjustments that reduce his impact on the wall? My recollection of last year was fouling a ball off his toe was the injury, but coming back too soon was what lost the season for him. He’s lost time to migraine and back injury that we could guess came from wall collision, but will never know.
  5. Buxton on the IL makes him what? About as valuable to the team as I am, I suppose.
  6. Is this it? I do not subscribe to the athletic, but I probably should.., https://theathletic.com/454771/2018/08/02/jackie-bradley-jr-ranks-the-10-best-catches-of-his-career/
  7. 13 games in a row, he’s gotta be managing the bullpen for a rough stretch
  8. I’ve had truly bad meals, I didn’t need one of those to truly know a great meal compared to a good one.
  9. Twins badly needed Perez to have a good long outing and got it from him.
  10. I think Perez gets by with smoke and mirrors all the time...until he gets clobbered
  11. but you knocked on wood? If his health wasn’t always a concern would you knock?
  12. well put! he’s clearly a student of base stealing. I’d love to see the same thoughtful aggression in the field.
  13. only a few players per season play more than 140. I’d be thrilled if we got 140 games of Buxton playing his best.
  14. In a not so revealing interview with MLB.com, Buxton tells the interviewer “I’m going to be me” 146 times including the excerpt below. “MLB.com: Speaking of laying off the wall: I’ve seen you get hurt because you hit the wall so many times. Have you thought about laying off the wall? Buxton: There is no point in it. If you are going to come out here and you want to win, you do what you have to do to help your team win. You have but one life. I’m going to make the most of it while I can.” https://www.mlb.com/news/byron-buxton-more-confident-comfortable-in-2019 While we’ve seen a more effective hitter by this new approach, the health is status quo. Will Buxton ever “stay healthy” with this approach? When he’s on the field, he’s game changing, but he’s such a part time player. I really wanted Bill Larson to point blank ask (never gonna happen) him if he’s willing to do what it takes to stay on the field. He hurts himself and the team by getting injured. He needs to stay healthy. Is this the defining season for Buxton? Will he figure it out, despite what he says?
  15. I was wondering why the top inch of the snow had a brown hue. I just assumed it was smog...
  16. average was 5.4 innings per start. Twins were 5.1 innings per start good for 26th place. The season is young, things can absolutely change, but we have yet to see the Twins 5th starter, or 6-8. Currently at 5 innings per start but average is 5.2 presumably because the Twins aren’t the only team getting short starts coming out of spring training.
