that interview was aired during pregame. He said something to the effect of “I got to sleep around 2AM, got up for my flight at 4:00” He was absolutely buzzing with energy on two hours of sleep. He seemed really amped up to make a playoff push. He’s a little goofy, but he impressed me. I’m pretty meh on him still as a pitcher, but he’s already growing on me as a human being.

he’s still a Twin.... a Rochester Redwings specifically, but he wasn’t claimed and accepted his outright assignment to AAA.

It depends, but I would assume Wade or Cave. Getting Gordon’s feet wet wouldn’t be the end of the world either. Ronald Big Toe Torres has MLB experience too.

its hard, I was there at the same time as around 3-4 TDers this spring. I met Seth and missed the other regular folk, just went to different games in the same week. We should be better about planning this stuff!

It depends on what the FO does about the bullpen, not the rotation. Lynn has been great, and it’s very possible he’s past last year and coming back in ‘19 would be just a continuation of excellent pitching. I hope the FO would vet that out first... I really care about the bullpen and Perez, Gibson, or Pineda aren’t enough of a boost to the pen to move the needle. If it’s Lynn and nothing else, it’s a failure

or you could live with a short bullpen a couple days and give Perez his start Saturday, push back starts on Tuesday. That would also benefit a battered rotation

keep Smeltzer in the rotation - Perez can be in the pen where a 2 pitch mix works better

You can tell me your narrative all you want, the data says his average start is longer than league average. You can harken back to Jack Morris and Bert Blyleven, but those days are over. Agreed on the need for relief pitching, disagreed on the cause. It’s not Jake Odorizzi, it’s Derek Falvey

Since the beginning of the 2018 season (51 starts) Odorizzi has averaged 5.75 innings, more than a half inning higher than league average. In 2019 he’s over 5.5 innings per start still a third inning over average.

Falvey was on with Doogie (the source for MLBTR) it's worth listening to the first half as Hildenberger talks mechanical dajustments on his road to recovery/back to the bigs. https://www.skornorth.com/the-scoop-with-doogie/2019/07/trevor-hildenberger-derek-falvey-rashede-hageman-and-twins-trade-notes-ep-245/ I'm still disappointed by Falvey's remarks, but I'm hopeful he's playing coy.
